Graham was a little bit late for work that day, due to clothing reasons. He wanted to head back to his room to see if his cloak and cap had been somehow magically transferred over there when he turned into a bandicoot in the first place, and was very relieved to find out that they had, indeed. He would have felt terrible if his mother needed to make him a whole new cloak and cap! But everything was back to normal, and he figured, since he was already at the dorms, he'd bring Triumph along with him to the store, since he didn't get to spend as much quality time with him while bandicooted, and this was a good way to make up for it.

And, surprising no one, especially after hearing about it from Summer during their broadcast, he was thrilled to check out the gelatinous cube plush, and he and Triumph spent a good deal of time between customers camped out in front of the counter with it, speculating on what would make for other good things to put in there.

A conversation that was mostly centered around just one, simple, innocent question: "What kind of jelly bean do you think a gelatinous cube would like the most?"

You'd be surprised, how many different branches of philosophical ponderings a question like that could inspire! And it was especially nice when Graham did, in fact, have a bag of jelly beans that had been waiting for him in his cloak all week, pretty much!

Since it was coming up to Easter, Guillermo had been inspired with an Easter baking theme in addition to his normal containers of Empanadas and Churros that week.

And so this week Guillermo had tried making
easter egg cake and hot cross caramilk cheesecake loaf

“Hi,” Guillermo had missed Graham last week when, “I have the snacks for tonight and I made extra empanadas for you since you never got any last week,” he smiled shyly, “welcome back,”

"Guillermo! Hey!" Graham beamed up at him from his spot on the floor in front of the counter (Triumph, too, gave a little trill of greeting), and then pushed himself up to hop onto his feet. "Here. Allow me," he pulled himself up importantly and adopted his best Noble Knight tone, "to assist you with those!

"And thanks," he grinned back to his normal voice as he took some of the containers, as usual, from Guillermo. "It's good to be back! Not that I didn't enjoy being a bandicoot, it was a lot of fun, but it's nice to just be me again, you know?"

“Hi Triumph,” Guillermo smiled at that greeting as he lowered the containers so that Graham would be able to help him, “thank you,” he said to Graham as he helped him and he nodded, “I know what you mean, I think it was like that last year when I was a bat, it was fun but I was glad to be me again, I …I did you miss you while you were a bandicoot,” he added shyly.

As Graham started toward to counter to put the containers down, Triumph got up from where he'd been sitting and made curiously little grunts and squeaks with his nose lifted and sniffing, and Graham chuckled. "Good thing you made all that extra!" he remarked. "With Triumph around! Don't worry, Triumph, you'll get some as well!

"And..." there was a slight pause, Graham grinning to himself a little before looking back over to Guillermo with a little red across his cheeks. "I missed you, too. It's too bad we didn't run into eachother last week, we could have had some fun, and I have it on good authority that I made a very cute bandicoot. A bandi-cute, as it were!"

That would never get old!

"I wondered if bandicoots are very good at video games."

"Graham!" Charlie yelled delightedly as she made her grand entrance. "You're you again! I heard you on radio!"

"Charlie!" Graham called back happily. Triumph, too, trumpeted his greeting. "I am! And talk about good timing, too, I still got to do some of the broadcast and got to work! Triumph and I are trying to figure out what kind of jelly bean a gelatinous cube would like best."

He scooted over on the floor in from to the counter to pat the spot next to him. "You should come join us!"

You didn't have to ask Charlie twice. She set her mandolin on the counter and settled in next to Graham. "And I can understand you! For real!" she said happily. "Although I think we did pretty well figuring things out together. And hello, Triumph!"

"Well, sure we did!" said Graham, grinning over at Charlie and thinking that being a comparable size to her again was pretty nice, too. "We make a great team, even across unexpected species boundaries!"

Speaking of species boundaries, the capybara in the room was also scooting closer to Charlie and grumping a bit to try and elicit a few pets and ear scritches, please and thank you.

"Thanks, by the way," Graham added. "You were a really great help, and I really had a lot of fun hanging out with you all bandicoot-style!"

Between one thing and another, Vi had a real craving for baked good today, so she'd brought along spiced fruit buns from J,GoBs. A lot of buns.

Libby had debated, especially after her claim of not wanting to see another salad again for another week after her lamb-based diet lately, actually not bringing the usual veggie tray to the game tonight, but she just couldn't bring herself to break with the tradition. Some traditions, after all, were much harder to let go of than others, and, apparently, being everyone's healthy snack purveyor was nearly impossible to break.

"Kurt! Hey!" Graham grinned, lifting a hand in a wave. "Thanks! It's definitely good to be back! It was a near thing, too! If the squirrels hadn't gotten Miss Smith to help out with my radio, I might not have even been back yet! Thank goodness she was there!"

And was a witch now, apparently.

Graham's Table: Gameplay - 04/07.

Now, Graham had to admit, in the midst of all that jelly bean philosophy, he had been thinking a little bit about the game last night and now, well...maybe it was bandicoot brain, but he was having trouble remembering exactly where they'd been or what they'd been doing. He found some of his notes still in tact, but quite a few things had apparently gone missing, and as they got closer to the game, he was starting to get a little nervous about what to do next.

"Soooooooo," he ventured carefully, "as you all know, we didn't meet last week on account of me being a bandicoot, and, I gotta admit, somewhere in all that, a few details about the game got a little shuffled around. But, we've also been on this battle for a while now, and, just to keep things moving a little bit, I'm going to maybe mix it up a little, if that's alright with all of you. And here's how we're going to do it."

He paused a moment, cleared his throat, and pulled himself importantly as he dove into narration mode.

"With the commotion of a new arrival at the scene of the battle on one side, with the arrival of the mysterious woman, there is another commotion from further off in the distance, far, far into the forest, the sound of a long, deep horn, reverberating through the air. Immediately, it catches the attention of the bandit captain, who lets out a sharp curse. 'Zards! Not now! Not when it was just getting good!'

"Clearly irritated and a little regretful, she turns a grin to the party, quirking especially when her eyes land on Wind Over Surf, and she shakes her head. 'I have to hand it to you,' she says, 'you gave me far more difficulty than I was expecting. But we'll have to save that for another time. Bigger...' She snorts as her eyes drift up and down the Tabaxi bard in particular, "better things call. Aberdeen!'"

"With that shout, something is thrown from the bushes where the other bandits were known to be hiding, and as soon as it lands, it erupts into a giant cloud of glittery blue-grey smoke that smells, faintly, of lavender. And when the smoke clears, the bandit captain is gone, leaving on that lingering aroma in the air, and another bleating call from that horn far, far in the distance...."

Graham, grinning faintly, looked around the table at the gathered players.

"So," he addressed them all as a whole, waiting to see who might pipe up first, "what do you do now?"

Vi looked down at her character sheet. "Pretty sure Wind needs a cleric, and a nap. She's probably not the only one."

"Well, I definitely have a cleric," Libby offered with a faint grin and a wholly unnecessary but comedically mirrored glance at her own character sheet, "but we might want to find somewhere safer before we consider the naps. But Esthrana will go over to Wind and touch her shoulder so she can cast Cure Wounds and give her..."

Libby gave her character sheet a more judicious look now, before plucking out the right die and rolling. "Ooooh! Nice! That's...twelve hit points back!"

And that felt like such a good roll that she couldn't help giving Vi a thumbs up and a proud grin. That was more hit points than she even had total!

....it was probably a good thing she hadn't joined in on a lot of the fighting, huh?
