Summer had to admit, it had felt a little...odd, not going to down to check out the shenanigans down at the park today, especially since it was the first one, but she had to remind herself that it was for the best. It wasn't worth the risk. She'd been in a pretty good spot lately; she didn't need it all to get completely derailed because kiddie pools could potentially make her cry. She supposed she could just ask Anakin if he was planning on doing that one and when, but a part of her just assumed he'd made these things up on the fly, and if she brought it up, then that would only be asking for him to spring it on her intentionally, or something.

Or maybe she was giving it too much thought. Whatever. She was just looking out for herself, and if that meant removing herself from a goddamn Fandom institution until it was safe for her, well, then, so be it.

Tino offered to recreate some of the highlights for her, but it didn't take too long into it for her to realize that he also had not gone, and was clearly just making things up.

Actually, though? Considering how those things went sometimes, maybe he wasn't?

Yes, it's only May 10th, but the zombie band seems to be playing a lot of surfer summer music. Look, Fandom Summers hit a little different; they were official when the shenanigans started now.

Summer, in all her infinite wisdom, knew exactly what she had been doing in 'hiring' Prompto to be her little Shenanigans informant, and part of that also included an ulterior motive to maybe try to get more action up on the stage. Prompto had, after all, been someone who actually consistently took advantage of the stage whenever he was here, so, by having him bring her the list of participants, she could then treat him to a beer and a shot, and, in that process, convince him to get up on the stage before he went traipsing off back home like the good family man he was these days.

Not that he needed that much convincing, really, and the fact of the matter was that it had been a while, and, even though he was starting to feel some self-consciousness creep in on him, it wasn't anything that a second jello shot couldn't remedy, and, before he knew it, he was bouncing up onto the stage with a song and remembering how much he really did love this shit.

He might need to do a second one, actually, before heading home, maybe...

Thankfully, the summer theme jello shots did not also translate in Tino sporting any summer-themed speedos. That would definitely violate the health code.

Prompto was mostly there, at the beginning of the evening, to complete his new assignment, apparently, as the person to go to the Wednesday activities to take note of who was participating and therefor eligible for free shots, since Summer herself apparently couldn't go for some reason.

She was giving him a raise for his troubles, though, so he was hardly going to turn her down and/or ask questions. He was just going to show up, slide the list forward on the bar, and give her a nod.

"There's this week's list, Summer," he informed her, with an accomplished sort of nod, and then maybe taking a moment to just sort of look around and sort of wonder how long it'd been since he'd actually been in Caritas. Definitely felt like a hot minute!

"Thaaaaank you, Prompto!" said Summer, beaming happily at how on time he'd been, so that she had the list pretty much right out the gate, and she picked it up and looked it over with an amused smirk. "You want a drink? Drink and a jello shot? What was the activity this week? Was it the pool one?"

Cutter wasn’t sure that coming down to the bar was a really good idea but he didn’t like the idea of being alone and moping in his apartment for the evening, so he decided to have a change of scenery and spend at least part of the evening at the bar.

Even though he had not drank anything alcoholic in over six weeks, so this was definitely going to be an experience.

It did feel rather weird being back at the bar, “I never thought I was going to see this place again,” he couldn’t help but remark, more to himself than to anything as he carefully took a seat.

"Well," said Summer, with lifted brows and giving Cutter a once-over, "that's a hell of a way to start a conversation, but I'm...glad?," oh, you could definitely hear the question mark there, "to see you again, Cutter? Had, uhhhh.....an interesting break, I take it?"

Connor had been out of the apartment more this one day between his first Museum shift since getting back and getting caught up in shenanigans in the park. But it was Wednesday, and he was actually looking forward to heading to the bar. He needed some drinks or some very nice very strong jelly shots at the least.

"Summer," he said with a nod and a weak smile as he slid into a seat at the bar, looking maybe a tad over dressed for the weather with a jacket and scarf on even as he had made is way into the bar. "Gota say, it is good to be back... wasn't sure that was going to be the case for a bit there."

"....well, that sounds like a story," said Summer, who looked at Connor for a moment before deciding to just start setting jello shots in front of him (save for the shrimp one, unless it turned out he was into that). "But it's good to see you back, too, Connor. Rough break?"

After a couple of hours, Cutter decided to finally leave and as he was he adding out that was when he noticed Connor and froze.

Maybe he could sneak out without Connor noticing him? But he found he couldn’t move and stood there awkwardly.

Stark had survived Anakin's nonsense, of course. Anakin would quickly run out of victims if they didn't survive his Wednesday activities and then where would the man be?

"No shrimp, please." He smiled at Summer as he sat down. "But the others sound good."

Don't make him say all the names, Summer! Or maybe do. It would be funny if he had to request sex on the beach.

Not to mention, could you imagine the paperwork for that kind of thing? Yeesh.

And it would be funny, and Summer would have a great, clever, not at all overused, how dare you retort to it, but she got way more enjoyment out of attempted shrimp torture.

"Are you suuuuuuuure no shrimp?" she asked, neatly setting out for him the row of non-shrimp jello shots. "It is National Shrimp Day, you know."

Did she deeply hate that she knew this even though she wasn't working at the store today? Yes.

Was she going to let that stop her from trying to weaponize it to her advantage? Absolutely not.

Diego figured he should stop by a bar when his wife wasn't working in order to look like a human being who could be social on occasion. He'd rather be in his house, but look at him, trying.

Uh, excuse you, it was always Summer in Caritas on Wednesday.

"Hol-lee shit," said Summer, beaming happily at this unexpected face currently at her bar and dutifully fulfilling that beer request. "Diego! Hi! Good to see you, man!"

Then, a pause, and a look that shifted significantly, "Unless something's wrong. Something's not wrong, is it?"

Ugh, was she going to have to go cut a bitch?

"Look who we have here," Annie teased when she wandered over, a shot in either hand (and you had best believe she was mentally repeating left hand's mine, left hand's mine so she wouldn't mix them up.) Though she wasn't concentrating on that so hard that she couldn't -- and wouldn't, of course -- lean in for a kiss in greeting. "Hi, honey."

At some point, Connor looked up from the jello shots in front of him and saw Steven. He managed a small smile and a wave to him, realizing he had waved with his still very bandaged hand and dropped it back into his lap rather quickly.

"Are we treating, like, the first shenanigan day like the start of summer?" Annie asked, eyeing the specials as she sidled up and carefully maneuvered herself onto a barstool. (It was only going to take more maneuvering as time went on, sigh.) "This is all very summery."
