One of many upsides to a magic, godly hammer was immunity to spring allergies. Unlike Tino, who was red eyed and extra surly about it today. Or maybe that was just his normal attitude and Jane was projecting a little.

Either way, she was going to stay on the other end of the bar from him.

"Have you tried Claritin?" she called, just unable to help herself.

Tino was less than pleased.

"Jane!" Raiden exclaimed when he entered Caritas and saw her behind the bar. Then he paused and asked, "Wait, is it Monday?"

Keeping track of his friends' schedule changes: difficult.

"No, I changed my shift. Mondays weren't working for me, you know?" That just made her sound like Garfield.

"Yeah," Raiden, who had never worked a job with a schedule until recently, agreed. "It's the Monday of it all." That was deep, buddy. "My workshop is on Monday, but I've only done that once so far. I...think it went okay?" Still kind of wild that people wanted to learn about something from him.

"Oh? What are you teaching?" Jane asked.

"Pizza!" Raiden exclaimed. Duh, Jane. What else would he teach? "All about how to make it and where it came from--besides, y'know, Italy--and all that."

Sometimes you got bored, and dealing with the sullen mean girl at the bar was better than sitting at home.

Except the sullen mean girl wasn't there! "Didn't expect to see you here," Rey greeted her.

"I switched my day," Jane said. "And Saturdays seemed like they ought to be lively when there's not something at the school or... were-creatures happening."

"You'll also get the fun of Parents Weekend and Three Minute Dates," Rey pointed out.

"Oh, I hadn't even thought about that." She might die, Rey.

"Don't let me scare you, it'll be great," Rey said immediately with a smile.

"Well, I'll expect to see you there to cheer me on," Jane replied with an answering smile.

"For which one?" Rey half-teased.

"Whichever comes first," Jane said solemnly. "What can I get you to drink while you mull that over?"

"Dr. Pepper tonight," Rey said. "Nice and boring."

"I'll take boring after the past few weeks," Jane said, getting her drink poured.

"We have earned it," she agreed. "But we should have a break for a bit at least."

"I really hope so," Jane said, pushing her drink over. "I'll never live down destroying a building with an elephant if it happens again."

Rey paused. "Well, that particular situation won't happen again," she said. "Probably. An elephant?"

"A were-elephant?" Jane corrected, making a face. "Which are apparently a thing."

"It was a very weird week," Rey sighed.

[needsacatchphrase]

Jane knocked on the bar top. "Here's hoping to that not happening again."

"They tend not to, as far as I've seen," Rey assured her. "The next crisis should be new."

"...I don't know if that's good or bad," Jane admitted slowly.

"I'm not sure but it's probably a sign I've been here too long," she said.

"I still think a spreadsheet is a good idea!" You know. In case.

"I did forget about that," Rey admitted. "The werethings were distracting."
