Look. Summer didn't technically have proof that there was any sort of behind-the-scenes socialization going on between Tino, Tiny, and Apu, but it did seem a little suspicious, didn't it, if you started to put a few things together, that when she came into the bar that day, she was to find Tino all decked out in a sexy lumberjack get-up, complete with booty shorts, of course.

"I know you want me to," Summer informed him pointedly as she started to get set up for the evening, "but you know I am absolutely not asking. But I will say that I see you eying that pole in the back room, and so, just so we're crystal clear, I am veto'ing that shit right now."

She could already see that spark of rebellion in his eyes, though, so Summer just hoped it was a good busy day tonight so that he couldn't just slip away to the back and traumatize her further.

Annie was five months pregnant with twins, and it was, like, 75% humidity outside.

So maybe it was understandable, the way Annie greeted Summer in a sustained whine once she'd slid onto her barstool, looking pitiful and warm.

"Summerrrrrrrrr." A pause. "I don't want to ask about Tino, right?"

She'd been coming here a long time, now.

And that sustained whine plus veritable slumping meant that Annie was immediately getting a nice cold glass of ice water plopped in front of her on the bar before literally anything else.

"Please don't," she said. "No one should ever ask about Tino. He's best just left completely ignored unless you need a drink and I'm otherwise occupado. Like, as far as I'm concerned, that's literally his whole purpose."

Come on now, Summer, that was unfair.

He was also for lazy post inspiration, too.

And that was already more Tino-awareness than he deserved, so her expression went into a sympathetic smile. "How you doing, Annie?"

"There was that one time with the pizza and the faucet," Annie pointed out, because she would never forget that, ever. "Sometimes Tino does the weirdest stuff I've ever seen."

And Annie had, like, been through multiple apocalypses and to a superhero orgy last year.

"And I'm fine, other than how I think being pregnant for the summer in Maryland might actually kill me." And that would be, like, half the water going now, thank you. "We didn't plan this very well."

Steven and Llewellyn came in together which was perhaps one of many reasons why Tino's outfit didn't register for Steven. Perhaps it was also a sense of self preservation.

Or perhaps it was that one of the specials caught his attention instead. "That looks interesting."

That sort of selective perception was a blessing at times, Steven, you lucky, lucky jerk.

"The honeydew and red cabbage?" Summer guessed, because, well, it was the weird one, and she turned her head toward the board as if she could follow Steven's eyes to which one exactly had caught his attention, since, you know, that wasn't, like, super vague or anything.

"Also, hi, Steven," she added, like an afterthought, "the usual?"

He looked thoughtfully at the rest of the list. "Is the honeydew and cabbage a shot or a salad?"

Watts, arriving alongside Steven as the narrative above mentioned. paid Tino as much mind as usual as he spun down into a seat. Which was to say, none at all.

“Good evening, Miss Smith.”

"Good evening, Detective Watts," Summer greeted back with her usual nod and slightly straighter posture. Her formal posture, as it were. "And what annoyingly specific wine are we in the mood for this evening, pray tell?"

“I’ll take a Malbec,” he decided. And then, perhaps to give her a break from his usual annoyingly specific requests: “You go ahead and pick the vintage, so long as it’s not a handwavey year from handwavey winery.”

Or perhaps he was just being contrary. One of those.

Travis wasn't going to say anything further about Tino and his outfit. He was not. No matter how much Tino fluttered his eyelashes at him.

(Except possibly to use him as an excuse for not coming around as much as he could? Except then Summer would point out that she managed to deal with him on a weekly basis so Travis had no excuse. Or something.)

"The honeydew and red cabbage thing is because I made that joke about clamato, isn't it."

She gave him a slightly apologetic shrug, but then a smile. "It's good to see you again so soon, though, Travis! What can I get for you tonight?"

Okay, now Travis was a little sad that his joke hadn't made that much of an impact.

"Strawberry and cream sounds good for a start," he said. "And then we should figure out when we're going to hit up that space spa."

She did remember the whole bit where she'd teased him about the heat death of the universe and he'd said he'd swing by today and figure out a time to join her at the space spa and buy her a drink, right?

Then again, he could just be trying to avoid looking at Tino, which...

Honestly, no, that was definitely probably it, right? Smart. Who could blame him?

I don't know what it is, but honeydew was really popping off this week, but that SIX of them order (WITH five cabbages, no less, and two things of cucumber avocado sushi; I don't remember what else) was, like, the PEAK.
