Fandom Island Museum, Thursday Daytime

Steven was in a good mood when he got to work that day. Not the least of which was it was officially a much shorter commute for him to get to work now that they were fully moved in to their new home.

And, more specifically work related, Steven had displays ready to put up for any new island residents who might be arriving that weekend. Nothing new, but suggested tours of which exhibits to see if one only had an hour or so and wanted to hit the highlights.

Once he had the signs put up around their respective spots in the museum, he could be found at the Welcome Desk humming a contented song to himself as he made sure they were fully stocked on museum brochures and maps of the island for anyone who might need them.

Watts did not need a brochure or a map when he arrived at lunchtime, just a particular museum employee. Though he was going to wait a moment before announcing his presence, charmed as he was by the tune Steven was humming to himself.

Steven did need a moment to notice Llewellyn as he was writing up some notes. Then he did and looked up, smiling as he took his glasses off. "Hello, you. Haven't been waiting long, have you?"

“Not at all,” Watts affirmed. “You just seemed so- content- that I hated to interrupt.”

"Always more content when I see you," Steven pointed out. He came around the desk to give Llewellyn a kiss hello, if Llewellyn had no objections.

No objections; in fact Watts was reaching out to pull Steven nice and close in order to facilitate that kiss.

“Hello, you,” he greeted happily.

Steven bumped their noses together. "And now my day's improved. Did you enjoy the shorter walk?"

“It was pleasant enough,” Watts confirmed. “The appeal being the much shorter time from setting out to seeing you, rather than any sights or scenery along the way, of course.”

"Whereas for me it'll be knowing I'll have a nice walk when I set out to see you at work," Steven replied with a smile. "Help pass the lonely time until I see you."

“And then we shall get to come home to each other at the end of the day,” Watts beamed at him, still quite enamored by that fact. Even if, yes, sometimes it would be Marc and not Steven.

"I'm going to have new highlights of my day now," Steven said, returning the smile. "I'm not complaining at all, mind."

“Oh?” Watts said. “And what are those, then? The arrival of ‘pumpkin spice’ flavoured beverages?” As jokes went it wasn’t much of one, but as always he was trying.

Llewellyn earned an appreciative chuckle for his trying. "Well, the changing of the colors in the trees is nice, I won't lie that that's enjoyable. But no, something else."

“Discovering the latest perch Raphael has managed to convince our house to create for him to survey his kingdom?”

"Good morning," Nell said cheerfully. "I brought you and the Detective some of the lemonade cookies I made for Tuesday."

Steven waved hello. "Nell, good morning! That's very kind of you. I'll be sure he gets them. How are you today?"

As though he could not see how cheerful she was.

"Oh, I'm good," she said with a smile. "I hear you've moved into the new House."

[hasaknightjob]

"Out of the old and into the new," Steven confirmed. "Still getting things set up. We've had to focus on the public side more than our own. We've someone staying with us already! Well, she's not moved in yet, but she will be."

"Oh?" Nell said, wondering who would be willing to do that. "Someone new to the island?"

Steven smiled, since to him this was happy news. "Illyana. The sorcerer who helped us with the rescue? She'll be going to university starting this semester. She's very nice. She helped us with the furniture yesterday. And got lunch."

"Oh," Nell said again. "Well at least she knows what she's getting into. And maybe an added security for the House staying... welcoming?"

"It's been doing wonderfully," Steven said. "Raphael's been thrilled. It makes little shelves for him to climb all over the walls."

"I'm sure he enjoys that," Nell said. "Cats do love that sort of thing."

"He enjoys being tall, I think," Steven agreed. "And all the windows. Much more interesting views than he had back at the flats. Not that those weren't lovely as well, of course."

"Do they...look out on things that aren't there?" Nell said. "Or just your garden variety windows?"

It might actually be interesting to have windows that looked out on different places.

"Regular windows," Steven said. "So in our side the front looks out onto the street and the back towards the beach. Very lovely view, really."
