PW Saturday: Plant Parenthood

Nell and the kittens were once again at the store in case anyone might want to stop in - whether they were guests or people lacking guests who just felt like visiting.

It wasn't the nicest of days, but everything was green and beautiful inside the store.

Gladio was just going to look all proud of himself for getting that laugh out of her as if it was anything novel and new and give Nell a light nudge back. "We can always just play it by ear," he said, "if something comes up next weekend. I don't have too much else going on."

Or, really, anything else going on, if you got right down to it, even on a weekend like this.

Yay for the never any visitors team?

"Sounds good," Nell said. "It's easy enough to get there and back. Now."

The gnomes at Portalocity had gone into great scientific, or perhaps magical, detail about the stable permanent portal, almost none of which Nell understood, but she figured since the one with young kids had offered to go through with her each time that it must be pretty safe.

"Mmm." It was a soft, skeptical sort of grunt out of Gladio at that, one that tried not to be, but always found it a little difficult when portals were involved, but could anyone really blame him when their effectiveness seemed....incredibly selective? "Let's hope so. But...if we do run into trouble with that, at least we'll be together."

Well, hopefully. He wouldn't put it past his portal troubles to do something like send them both off elsewhere, but he wasn't going to be that cynical about it out loud.

Nell took a moment to consider the idea of Gladio versus the Church and just grinned. "Won't nobody bother me if we're together," she said with a grin.

"Well, that's not true," said Gladio, without missing a beat, seriously at first, but then dispelling that illusion with a little nudge. "I'm definitely going to be bothering you. As much as I can possibly get away with."

In fact, the was going to go ahead and bother her right now by turning that nudge into another kiss, so she knew exactly what kind of bothering she could look forward to.

"Oh no," Nell murmured against his lips. "Not bothering. How dreadful. Someone help."

Soooo convincing. As she kissed him back.

"I'm really good at being a bother, too," Gladio warned her. As if she didn't know. As if there wasn't active proof right there in front of her as he spoke, because he definitely wasn't pulling away ans he was absolutely kissing her again.

"The horror," Nell said, backing up toward the low counter and tugging him with her. "Whatever will I do?"

"Could always just bother me right back," Gladio said, letting himself be pulled with no resistance, grinning into the kiss he tried to maintain as he did. And when they reached that counter, he leaned in a little more to lift her up to set her on it, taking advantage of being able to lean on it himself to get even closer.

"You're so good at it though," Nell murmured, letting herself be lifted up and wrapping herself around him as they kissed. "I'll have to practice a lot to be as good as you."

"You know I'm always happy to help," Gladio said, between demonstrating exactly how happy and how helpful he could be in that regard. "And I'm a pretty good trainer, too."

"An amazing trainer," Nell corrected between kisses. "Just look how far IK've come from never been kissed."

"Maybe," Gladio grinned, lifting a hand to brush gently against Nell's cheek, "you're just a natural."

"Maybe you just make it easy," Nell countered. "Never met anyone else I was interested in kissing."

"Maybe it's just the both of us together, then," Gladio suggested, leaning into the kiss a little more, with his arm wrapping around her to pull her closer, too.

Her skirty pants made it easier for her to be daring and wrap a leg around him as well let herself be tugged closer. "Maybe it is," she said. "The two of us together make something magical."

"We're a pretty good pair," Gladio agreed, bit he did slow, just a bit, when he felt Nell's leg wrap around him, albeit reluctantly. But they were in her shop, and he didn't want to overwhelm her...

"If we weren't down here..." Nell murmured, easing back a little. "I would like to feel your hands on me, like when we were camping indoors."

That was...definitely making it more difficult to pull back, not to mention knowing exactly how best to respond.

"I'd like that, too," Gladio murmured, and that was the easy part, pretty much a given. The next felt like a bit more of a risk.

"Too bad we are down here..."

"Maybe," Nell said carefully. "If I were to lock the door... we could go upstairs to the couch where no one could see us... and you could take off your shirt...?"

Gladio smiled softly, even as he felt conflicting jolts of both excitement and guilt.

"You know it's hard for me to pass up on a chance to take of my shirt," he reminded her. "But I'd hate for you to miss out on all this business..."

Nell looked around the store. "No one but you has come in all day. I don't think I'd be losing much by closing a little early."

She hesitated. "But we don't have to. If it's too much to ask..." Since it wouldn't be going much further than touching.

Gladio just looked at Nell for a moment, kissed her softly again, and brushed a bit of her hair back behind her ear.

"I'd really like that," he assured her. "Not too much to ask at all. As long as you're okay with it."

Nell leaned into his touch. "I am. As long as you don't mind that I'm... not ready to do too much."

She turned her head to kiss his palm. "And if you don't mind I can have the store closed up in seconds. And maybe you can demonstrate that scooping up and carrying thing you're always talking about."

The soft grin on Gladio's face was immediate. "Can I lose the shirt before the scoop-and-carry?" he asked, emboldened easily now that they were clearly on the same page.
