Parents' Weekend Brunch, The Park, Sunday

The weekend was drawing to a close - but not quite yet! There was still a little more time to hang out with your loved ones, or your loved ones' loved ones, or whatever your particular situation may have been.

And on Sunday, the town was providing a space for that in the shape of a brunch. Because everyone loved more free food.

It felt weird to think that the weekend was almost over and that Becker, Lester and Connor were going to be leaving soon but at least they still had a bit of time before they had to leave to head back to the ARC and they were making most of the morning.

"Ok so head's up" Connor said when he met up with Cutter that morning. "Lester seems to be in one of his moods. Evidently, he woke up with glitter all over the bed and according to Becker he's taken three full showers already today trying to wash it all off." Connor was trying relly hard not to laugh but he couldn't keep the smirk off his face.

"Oh James is not going to let me hear the end of this," Cutter sighed, "so much for promising him that he wasn't going to get any glitter at his hotel room," he paused, "I'm guessing Becker managed to avoid the glitter?"

"I did not"Becker said as he walked over. His black shirt and pants were looking a bit be-dazzled with glitter. "Do they actually spread this stuff around the island on purpose or something? I haven't had this much glitter on me since I had to give that talk at the elementary school back when I was just out of boot camp!"

Cutter couldn't help but snigger at the sight of Becker with the glitter, "well at least this time your shirt's not destroyed because I ended up crying on it?" he offered instead.

"True" Becker said with a soft smile at Cutter. "Though either way I think I will be buying some new shirts at least. Sparkly glitter isn't exactly the dress code of ARC security!

"Maybe James will cover it as a work expense?" Cutter tried, even though he knew that trying to suggest to James right then would probably not go down well.

"Speaking of Lester..."Connor said as he pointed off to the side. "Here he comes."

Lester was scowling as he made his way over to the group, he had tried to have another shower in addition to the three that he'd already had and still he couldn't get the glitter out of his hair and his good suit was completely ruined as well.

"I don't suppose I can leave the dry cleaning bill with Fandom can I?" he scowled, as he crossed his arms and stared at the group.

"I mean, you could try?" Connor said trying to bite back the snicker as he looked at Lester. "But I doubt anything would come of it." He looked at Lester and couldn't hold it back any longer. "Anyways Sir, I am sure sparkling pink glitter will be in style at some point!"

Lester looked horrified at the idea of sparkling pink glitter coming into style and he just glared at Connor then, "I think I'll stick with my suits as they are for now," he said curtly, "preferably the ones that aren't covered in pink glitter," he looked at the few pieces of glitter that had stuck to his jacket.

"Well if anyone could make it a new trend it would be you Lester" Connor offered with a weak grin.

"So...." he said trying to change the subject. "Who's ready to eat? I'm starving!"

Lester did pride himself on being able to pick out fashions but even he wasn't sure he could make a trend out of pink glitter.

"As long as there's no pink glitter in the food," he said dryly, even though with the way the morning had gone he was starting to doubt he would find glitter free food.

"Might want to avoid the cupcakes then" Connor said. "There's edible glitter on some of them."

"Really?" Becker said, somewhat interested and then coughed. "I mean... really, that this bizarre" but he still had that intrigued look in his eyes.

Lester's eyes went wide at that, "I think I'll pass on the cupcakes," he sighed, "please tell me that there's something else that doesn't have glitter all over it?"

"The rest of the food is glitter safe" Becker assured Lester though he couldn't keep the smirk off his face. "The burgers and hot dogs are good" he said nodding to his plate and the half-eaten food.

They were typically not Lester's go to foods but he supposed if he wanted to eat, then he could wait just a little longer til he got back to his glitter free apartment, "then I suppose I'll have a hot dog," he decided at last.

Cutter was in the process of filling up his plate with food and he came back with a plate for Lester that had his hot dog as requested.

The plate had managed to stay glitter free.

"See a Fandom miracle for you Lester," Connor said with a smile. He was about to say something else when a familiar chirping sound caught his attention.

"Oh hey Rex, sorry wasn't trying to ignore ya buddy" he said as he knelt down to give the tiny dragon a head pat. "Did you want to try some of the hotdog?"

"Yes, yes a Fandom miracle, I'll be pleased if I never see another piece of glitter again," he said as he took a bite of his hot dog, it was actually a pretty good hot dog he had to admit.

Lester sighed and then broke a piece of the end of the hot dog and gave it to Rex, "don't say I don't ever do anything for you Rex,"

It was okay Rex, Lester was secretly very fond of you.

Connor smiled and looked at Cutter with a grin as he watched Lester and Rex.

"Oh you are such a little moocher ain't ya Rex" he said fondly.

Cutter returned the grin as he watched Lester and Rex, "I think you've lost your hot dog there James," as he noticed Rex looking up at the rest of the hot dog hungrily.

Lester sighed, took one more bite of the hot dog and threw the rest down for Rex.

This day just kept getting better and better.

And look at that Lester, Rex was saying thank you as he chirped happily and made quick work of the rest of the hotdog. With that finished he gave another chirp and jumped into the air and flew around them a few times before landing on Cutter's shoulder.

"Good boy Rex, are you still hungry?" Cutter smiled fondly as he gave Rex some chin scritches and then he took a bit off his own hot dog and held it up to Rex so that he could eat.

If people were going to keep feeding him then he was definitely going to keep mooching. Rex chirped happily at the scratches and the offered hotdog. He liked it when his favourite people had visitors.

Once he was finished with Cutter's offered hotdog Rex looked over at Lester and tilted his head and gave a small questioning chirp as if he was contemplating jumping over to Lester's shoulder.

Cutter smiled fondly and gave Rex another scritch.

Lester noticed the direction Rex was looking and sighed, "come on Rex," he said, turning slightly so Rex could fly over to his shoulder, "the suit's already ruined, but only this once," he added not that he expected this to stop him.
