Fandom Island Museum, Thursday Daytime

The day was forecast to be warm, so when Steven got to the Museum he made sure the water coolers had plenty of cups and water both. He managed to spill... only some of them.

The cups were easy enough to recover. The water was mopped up from the floor but his wet shirt was going to have to dry on its own.

(Yes, Steven could've asked Marc for help lifting the heavy water bottles, but that would have been admitting defeat. Clearly being stubborn about a wet shirt was the much more dignified option.)

That done, Steven sat behind the Welcome Desk and tried to see how much he could dry his shirt off using paper towels.

Nell was by first thing in the morning before class carrying a large container of fruit salad. She had to do something with all that extra fruit, didn't she?

"Good morning, Steven," she said cheerfully.

"Good, good," Nell said cheerfully. "Just heading off to class, but I wanted to bring by some fruit salad that I made. I had far too much."

"At least we have air conditioning," Nell said with a smile. "But back home I had to work outside in weather like this all the time. Still too hot here, though."

"Oh absolutely," Nell said. "But then I'll spend time in the woods no matter the season or weather. It's where I feel most at home."

Sorry! I never got this!

"It does," Nell said. "In winter, when things are quieter, there's more of a sleepy hum to it and in spring and summer there's so much going on all over!"
