Pizza Planet, Friday

At Pizza Planet today, Raiden was busily trying to get everything in order for him to go away for a week. He was certain there was something extremely important that he'd forgotten, and would only remember once he was in Wellington, but the truth was the place would probably be fine without him. Maybe less creative.

"Pizza skulls?" Stark asked when he saw the sign.

"Not actual bone?"

He hoped, anyway.

"I don't think most of the people on the island's teeth are up for bone," Raiden mused. "No, they're just shaped like skulls, in fun little molds! It's amazing what you can find on the internet these days."

"Good," Stark said. "I wouldn't want to eat actual skulls. Little ones made of pizza sound good. Can I try one? Or more than one. Are they very small?"

"They're sort of...small hand pies? Here, I'll show you," Raiden said, and went back to the kitchen, returning with a pizza skull on a plate. "How many of those do you think you'd want?" Him, personally? At least a dozen. But he was aware he was a special case. "Oh, and what kind of toppings? I've got pepperoni or a veggie one."

"One of each?" Stark said. "For now. I might take more for later though."

Or he might eat more now! He was still not quite back to himself and maybe pizza would have curative properties!

"Comin' right up!" Raiden, who wholeheartedly believed pizza had curative properties, agreed. "Let me just get you some warm ones from the oven." He would just...dispose of this one. In his mouth.

Once he had returned from the kitchen with Stark's order and his mouth was less full, he gave him the total (and his order, duh), and asked, "So how's it goin'?"

Pizza was magical like that.

"I'm going to New Zealand," Stark said after he paid (and left a tip because obviously). "I'm looking forward to that. And I'm feeling better than I was."

You know, when he had very innocently thought someone was dying and tried to assist and had some of his life drained away as a result. NBD.

"How are you?"

"Oh, were you sick?" Raiden asked, concerned. He didn't like it when mortals were sick. It reminded him of how mortal they were. "And I'm good! I'm going to New Zealand, too! Jane asked me along, and someone's gotta keep Gray from falling asleep on top of a sheep or whatever." That might still happen, though.

"Howzit, Raiden?" Steve asked, coming into the shop. "Nothing with candy corn today, right?"

"Nah," Raiden assured him. "We ran out...by which I mean I ate it all." Not on pizza, for the most part. "But I can send Tito for some if you're jonesing."

"Oh, I'm good," Steve assured him. "The lamb pizza sounds great, though."

[carbsliftthespirit]

"It is great!" Raiden assured him. "I wanted to get in the, y'know, New Zealand mood." Where there were more sheep than people. "For the school trip?"

"Oh, that's right," Steve said. "You're going?"

Where would he get pizza for a week? The HORROR.

The pizza would still be here! Just run by NPCs. Raiden shrugged. "Jane asked me to come along. I guess she's afraid Smalls'll fall asleep off a cliff or something without someone keeping an eye on him." It was a fair concern.

But they weren't as creative! Danny would actually get what he asked for, and where was the fun in that?

"Well, that makes sense. There are a lot of cliffs in New Zealand." He grinned. "I've jumped off a few."

Of course he had.

Raiden would be back in a week! And then things would get worse for a while.

"I've never been. Which is kind of weird when you think about all that time we spent in Japan, but...well, we stayed in Japan, y'know? Not exactly exploring the Pacific." Even though there were probably demons in New Zealand, too.

Oh, probably. "I'm jealous you get to go," Steve said with a grin, "but not jealous enough to teach anything."

[carbsliftthespirit]

"I don't know how the actual teachers do it," Raiden admitted. "You've gotta plan out a whole semester? I can plan a menu, but that's about it."

"I'm not great with kids," Steve said.

[carbsliftthespirit]

"Me, neither. Well," he amended, "I've never been around kids that much." He would probably be great with kids, let's be real, but then the kids would be in danger from the people who wanted to do him and his brothers harm, had always been the thinking.

"I'm only around Danny's kids," Steve said, "and the last visit ended with me and his son both covered in red paint."

"Sounds like a successful visit to me!"

Steve laughed. "It wasn't water soluable paint."
