Caritas; Wednesday [12/133].
With all the candles everywhere, Tino had turned down the lights of the bar so that it was mostly relying on their surprisingly bright but incredibly atmospheric light scattered around the bar and the lounge in strategic ways, and the zombie band was mostly playing some low-key jazzy versions of Christmas classics, and you know what? Summer didn't hate it? It was actually kind of nice, really? And sort of made her wish she'd worn something a bit more sleek or slinky into work that day, and she was pretty sure it was going to potentially lead her down the path to talking in a sort of transatlantic accent like she was in some sort of old movie or something.
Until she noticed that Tino was doing the accent already, and that just kind of ruined it for her. Oh well. That would have been a really exhausting bit to maintain all night, anyway.

"Well, hey," Summer greeted him, "you're a new face! And about a couple of weeks ahead of when I'd be mostly expecting to see some of those! Welcome to Carita's, don't mind the zombies, what can I get for ya?"
Re: The Bar - 12/13.
"Ah yes, I'm a few days early... I figured it was prudent to arrive a few days ahead of time to learn my away around. At least somewhat." There was a moment's pause and then Humphrey remembered introductions and he smiled. "Humphrey Goodman, Detective Inspector."
Re: The Bar - 12/13.
She was using the term 'working' very loosely here.

Re: The Bar - 12/13.
"Oh," she said, completely deadpan and straight-faced, "no, I just thought I'd get a jump-start on next week's."

Sorry, Humphrey, Summer was played by a Michigander.
Who did not spell it wrong, shut up, she's been in Illinois too long apparently.

"Hello," he said, nodding to the new man. "Welcome to the island."
The radio had mentioned someone new at the causeway. Stark assumed this was that someone.

"It is, usually, yes. No reason not to be, I think."

He glanced over at the zombies as he said it. "Unless you're from somewhere with its own oddities so this place doesn't seem quite so strange."

Stark was, of course, not magic. He just did some weird shit with the glowy light that was part of his self.
"And plenty of us here from other worlds. I'm Stark. I don't think I said."
Re: The Bar - 12/13.
"Humphrey. Humprey Goodman, nice to meet you Stark" he said with a nod. "Recent arrival to the island myself which you already picked up on. I will be working at the local police station it seems."
Re: The Bar - 12/13.
So many cops. So little crime.
"I work at the clinic," he offered. "And sometimes I teach at the school. Not right now but maybe again in the spring."

Fielding calls from the Bee Lady and being criminally underworked!
"There should be new classes starting soon, in the new year," he added. "I'm taking philosophy class this time. It does make me think."
