Tino was giving Jane exaggerated shocked and confused looks about her coming into the bar to set up for the evening. Because he was Tino and not at all for any other reason. Really

"Okay, okay. So maybe I've been busy," she sighed, hauling one of the kegs that he'd been ignoring down to where it needed to go.


Sometimes it just went that way.

Dean frowned. Just saying "complicated" was too easy. "Imagine a god masquerading as a young adult fantasy writer who threw a tantrum when his meat puppets refused to follow the script," he explained after taking a sip of his beer. "He made everyone I cared about disappear. We got them back but what you said sounded eerily familiar. Definitely not a guy named Thanos."

Jane's expression turned to one of sadness and then sympathy. "At least that means it's not the same world. Or timeline. There have been a lot of close, but not quite ones I've found. Or ones where I just... look like someone people know."

Somewhere... Anakin was dying and deeply awkward again.

Anakin probably deserved that one though.

"I had that happen to me yesterday," Dean said with a nod. "Apparently there's a supervillain out there who looks just like me. Almost got nailed for it too."

He offered up his bottle for a toast.

"Here's to being ourselves and better for it, right?"

It was just the normal level of karma for him!

"Hear hear," Jane replied softly, lifting her drink to toast to that.

Dean clinked his bottle against her glass. "Nice meeting you Jane. Maybe next time I can buy you a drink on this side of the bar instead of across from it."

"I think I'd like that," Jane replied with another smile that was a little softer still.
