After being a squirrel for more than a week, Summer had really been looking forward to just spending a day working on some jello shots and getting to come into work with said jello shots and preparing herself for Tino just being Tino, which wasn't too bad that day? He just kept looking at her with this smug, I-know-something-you-don't look that had her both curious and suspicious, but ultimately, she decided that anything that had Tino looking like that was something she was probably better off just not knowing, thank you.

And then his looks started to get increasingly exasperated that she clearly wasn't biting, and that meant that now Summer got to be the smug one, and she was mentally taking bets with herself on when he cracked and just told her eventually anyway.

"Dean, hello." Lana smiled at him. "How have you been getting on?"

"Doing okay," Dean replied. "However I think it's time I order you a drink for once. Tino! The top shelf version of whatever she wants."

Lana smiled. "Thank you. Whiskey please, Tino. Something smoky; I don't care where it's from."

She waited until he'd poured her a decent shot to turn back to Dean and toast him. "You've certainly come here at an exciting time. We don't usually get this many insane things happening so soon in a row."

"Maybe I'm just a sign of bad luck," Dean offered but not seriously. "I could be a sign of the apocalypse."

Lana eyed him as she sipped her drink, then shrugged. "It's always possible, I suppose, but in that case, you're not cackling enough."

"I'm not saying I am the apocalypse-"

Though that has been the case in the past.

"-but merely a forthcoming sign of it."

Also something that had been the case in the past.

Look, the boy is apocalypse prone. He doesn't mean to do it. It just happens.

"So the apocalypse causes you?" Lana asked, amused.

“Usually I’m the cause of it. Our my brother was. We did our best but sometimes instead of putting out the fire we ended throwing gasoline on it,” Dean explained.

"It sounds like there are stories in there," Lana noted. "Though if they're ones you'd prefer not to tell, I wouldn't blame you."

"There's a lot of stories in there," Dean admitted. "I'm not sure if I can tell it all in one night. Let's just say it started with the death of my mom which put me on a path that... well. I guess my brother and I saved the world but there's a lot in between."

Lana nodded. "Not stories for a night out at a bar, then. Do you have any that are?"

"It's pretty rare, I'll admit," Dean said with a smirk.

"That tends to go along with worlds ending, unfortunately," Lana agreed. "Well, here's to fewer worlds ending in the future. Save by natural causes."
