Tuesday: Groovy Tunes

Charlie was all in favor of hugging cats for what was apparently Hug a Cat Day? However she drew the line at songs made by cats meowing. Though the cat's choir was actually pretty funny.

Come entertain or be entertained by Charlie and her attempts to get the cats that followed her into the store sing along with her guitar.

An entire dance remix set focused exclusively on the various yowlings and meowings of cats sounded precisely like the sort of project Stewart would spend far too much time exploring, and, as he stepped into Groovy Tunes that afternoon, the various cats in the store caused him to pause and consider it, his foot poised slightly in the air as it halted mid-step while he did. Head tilted, he considered it, shook his head as if to remind himself that he'd come here for something else, finally put that foot down so that he could finish his dramatic entrance that involved a little before stalking over to Charlie and her guitar.

"Read it," he said, reaching as dramatically as one could into his overalls to the pull out and brandish a piece of paper at Charlie, "and weep."

He probably gave her just enough time to infer that the paper he held was some sort of official document about the ownership and management of Groovy Tunes, giving her just enough time to see that the name allotted to that position was, indeed, his, but oh-so-conveniently pulling it away before she could likely get the chance to catch his last name.

Funny how that worked.

He rolled up triumphantly and slipped it back into the front of his overalls before declaring, "I regret to inform you, Miss Gale, but the era of your unsupervised employment has ceased to be. And now the Reign of Stewart," with that, he stepped back a little, to open his arms and lift his chin in what was truly a magnanimous and regal sort of pose, "has begun!"

Yes, yes, he will now accept applause, accolades, brown-nosing, boot-licking, groveling, cries of despair, tears of relief, etc, etc, etc, from his newest underling-slash-emplyee, thank you.

Charlie got barely a glimpse of the document, enough to know that Stewart was now in charge of the store, before he'd tucked it away again in his overalls.

"Marvelous," she said with a grin. "Now I know who to talk to about a raise! Welcome, Boss!"

Charlie was gonna Charlie pretty much no matter what life threw at her!

Stewart snorted with wry amusement, the grin in his face nothing but pleased, as his hands folding in front of him and he took a moment to look around the store and then back at Charlie.

"We can open a discussion about that state of your compensation," he offered generously, "once I've gotten myself a bit more...settled in my new domain. Today, I'd like to survey the lay of the land and see precisely what it is I'm working with. Perhaps start making the first of my initial plans for the grand machinations we may have in store for us our quaint little...realm of the recorded."

Charlie gestured to the store. "Make yourself at home," she said. "Let me know if you need anything explained."

She'd enjoy watching him explore.
