The Devil's Nest, Saturday Evening
Thor had one of the mixology books Don had borrowed for him from the library with him tonight for his shift at the bar, although he would be keeping it well clear of the bar and the potential splash zone.
He was not, however, venturing into the realm of wild creativity just yet. It was too hot for that.

"Ah, hello there," he said once he spotted Thor behind the bar.

"Good evening, Gale of Waterdeep," Thor said as he closed his mixology book. "How may I assist you?"
You're not supposed to know his name!
Well, too late for that information now, wasn't it, Don?
no subject
Insight check, motherfucker!

Thor let the silence stretch for long enough to become uncomfortable before he said simply, "No."
There. Problem solved! Right?

Somewhere in the void Don just had his face in his hands.

"Well, a pleasure to meet you, Thor. I believe I may have heard the name from the radio."
no subject
"Quite possibly," Thor agreed. "As I do not recall seeing you in this establishment before." Among his many, many customers. "And I do not believe you are in Winchester's...group on Thursdays." It was a bit much to call it a class.
no subject
"Ah, no," Gale agreed. "Drinking games are hardly my cup of tea. I'm more of a nice glass of wine in a cozy environment sort of person. Possibly with a good book."
no subject
"Would you like a glass of wine?" Thor offered. He might not be that familiar with the particular vintages the bar stocked yet, but he could tell red from white and the broad strokes beyond that. Or he could make Tiny figure it out.
no subject
"I would love one," Gale replied. "A nice, full bodied red would be lovely."
Yes. You know what to pick, right?

See? He knew things!

"A very noncommittal answer, I am intrigued."

And see if she had any ideas.

He had to know now.

To be fair, the vampire had been pulling off the velvet onesie.
no subject
Wasn't even gonna question the vampire in the velvet. That seemed pretty normal.
"What exactly are license plates?"

"That does sound like the sort of tedious thing a government would do," Gale admitted.

He didn't offer.
Hm. That was a problem.
A beat.
"Eric," Thor said by way of slightly belated greeting. "Yes, I believe I am getting my bearings quite well. I have been...brushing up, as it were."

Eric was a snob.

Are you kidding me right now?
Thor restrained a wince and stood his ground. Sorry, Don. He had to. Look at Eric.

You asshole. I'm going to call Navaan back.
