"I have absolutely no idea what most of these words mean," Liliana said, raising an eyebrow at the poster.

"...oh, we're fixing that," Tony 'Every Suit Of Armor Has Built In Rollerskates For Perfectly Practical Reasons' Stark replied.

Were those reasons 'in case the Skrulls decide to throw a bangin' roller disco party broke out in the middle of their invasion'?

"Why did I get a sudden cold chill down my spine?" she asked.

Only if Dazzler was there.

"It's just a fun sport! You'll love it."

Her expression suggested she would not.

"What is it about me, darling, that suggests I enjoy sports?" She had a negative to her STR modifier Tony, c'mon! Where was Gale? He'd understand.

Gale would end up taking 2d6 bludgeoning damage in the attempt, let's be real.

"Well, you could have layers. Hidden depths."

And then die because wizards and hitpoints, lol.

Liliana couldn't help the arch smirk she favored him with for that comment. Well, she probably could, but she didn't want to, which basically amounted to the same thing. "Nonsense. I am not a cake, darling. Everything there is to know about me is right there on the tin."

That she could even say that with a straight face proved that Deception was a CHA-based skill and she had Expertise.

"So...we'll be coming to your home...to play a sport...dressed in...?"

"And drinking," Tony offered. "Like most parties."

Just with a lot of Dazzler blaring. Did anyone else even know her? Debatable!

"Sports and drinking does have the potential to be fun," Liliana said, by which she meant 'watching other people sport while drunk.' "I still don't know what 'dress like the 70s' entails nor why you've decided to base a party around it. Unless it's like the puppy bowl and we're watching something on the television?"

"Aesthetic choice." Look, if anyone would get it, it'd be Liliana.

Aesthetics in general, yes, but this particular one?

Not at all. She was happy to leave the ponchos to Cal and the peasant blouses to actual peasants.

"I see you have decided to be absolutely no help in unraveling the mystery of this party." Probably so he could be out of range when Liliana discovered 'paisley.'

"I'm going to switch all the coffee in your house for decaf." And this was before she learned about bell bottoms!

"Now that's just cruel," Tony replied, clicking his tongue. "I'm out here, helping you expand your horizons!"

"I like my horizons just where they are," Liliana declared, still clueless about what all this was but suspicious based on his not-responses. "How ever did you even come up with this idea?"

Was it RDJ in tiny shorts or something? You can tell. This is a safe space.

Sometimes you just want to rollerskate to Chappell Roan and be covered in glitter for Pride, okay?

"Oh, I used to go skating a lot as a kid."

Really using that generic 'you' liberally, Tony. "I still don't know what rollerskating is," she pointed out, adding whatever Chappell Roan to the list of things to look up.

"...Wait, is there a holiday celebrating pride?" And Liliana hadn't been informed? That was one of her favorite vices!

It was a pretty good vice, it was true.

"Ah. Well, it's really more a celebration for people who... aren't straight?" Did that work? "For the month of June."

Liliana's eyebrows rose. Sounded very weird, but then, most holidays were when you got right down to it. "Huh." Something else on her to-Google list. "Is glitter and rollerskating a normal holiday observance?"

"Glitter, yes. Rollerskating is a case by case basis sort of thing." He was hedging there, to be honest.

She would remember that this conversation, Tony Stark.

"I'm certain it will be a memorable experience." You know, like how trauma was wont to be.

"I'm sure you'll love... parts of it." Anthony. Why were you this kind of friend?

Don studied one of the posters for several seconds before asking Tony, "Am I allowed to pass on the roller skates?"

He also wanted to ask why all Tony Starks loved roller skates so much, but that was possibly a question for a professional.

"Of course, there will be plenty of people not skating, I'm sure."

Not Tony. Who would know all the trick moves.

"So what is this, like a salute to Dazzler?" Don had to ask. Did Tony's universe have Dazzler? A universe without Dazzler must be sad indeed.

"Oh, we'll have a lot of her music playing," Tony assured him, so pleased other people knew who she was. "But it's mostly just an excuse for a party since Steve doesn't like how crazy things get for his birthday."

"Ah, yeah," Don realized. "He's like one of those kids born on Christmas, only...patriotism-themed." Both the holiday and the man!

[imafuturist]

"Exactly," Tony replied. "We'll probably just have a quiet week for the holiday."

Definitely not deal with weird time travel stuff.

Don gave him an extremely disappointed look. "Now that you said that aliens will invade, you know that, right?"

[imafuturist]

"That almost never happens here," Tony replied. "New York... yes."

[ifwebeworthy]

"Fair," Don, who had not been here long enough for many of the island's shenanigans, agreed. "That's fair. New York is a special place." Did he sound fond? Yes.

"If we went there for the week, HYDRA would attack. Or AIM," Tony replied with a little face. "But that's more my New York than his."

Again, he didn't have to sound so nostalgic about it.

Tony made a face at Skrulls. Because that was an on-going thing with Steve.

"We did get some people attacking our wedding. Sue and Reed never had that happen."

Because Sue was terrifying.

"That's because Sue is terrifying," Don said, not because he could read the narrative or anything but because he had in fact met Sue. "Sucks about your wedding, though. That was rude of...whoever that was."

It wasn't someone trying to file a paternity suit, was it?

"AIM, that time around!" Tony said. "MODOC has some weird fixation on me."

"It's because your brain is so big," Don told him. "While still taking up the normal amount of space, unlike MODOK."

Look, it sounded the same when you said it out loud. Why would either of them notice the difference?

"He showed up here once in a crop top," Tony said, looking concerned about that. "Well, he claimed it was a crop top. But MODOC's body made it look like a sash."

"MODOK in a crop top?" Don asked. "That's...I cannot picture that. I think my brain is trying to protect me."

"It's for the best," Tony agreed, wincing.

"I'm sorry that you had to see that." He wouldn't even wish that on his universe's Tony Stark, and he was still pissed at that guy.

"He kept insisting he was my archnemesis. Which is a big no, thanks."
