POST-WEDDING PARTY, Community Center, Saturday Evening

They might not have been billionairs, but a succesful popstar and a world leader could drum up quite an impressive budget together. The community center itself was transformed, to such an extent you wouldn't recognize it when you entered.

Unlike the white wedding, the colors were pleasantly dark, soft blacks and dark blues dominating the floor, the ceiling, the walls. The lighting implied the ambiance of a sort of upper class rave, with pops of color penetrating the darkness, and tasteful flowering plants lining the walls.

There was a dusting of glitter, a gentle mix of red and white, that blew across the floors and reflected the light at strange angles. The food served at the tables in the far corner - tastefully separated from the rest of the room with dividers that mimicked some of Van Gogh's darker flower paintings - was the work of the Hegemony's own kitchen; fancy finger foods fit for world leaders.

There was a dance floor. There was an expensive DJ, flown in from Milan. Envy's wasn't the only music being played, but it was in heavy rotation.

Peter, still in his fancy suit, was grinning like an absolute lunatic. He knew he'd have to curb it soon enough or risk losing track of the actual point of being here (networking), but he couldn't seem to get it under control.

"It's the good stuff," Envy said, as she also visited the champagne fountain. "I know the fountain part doesn't always telegraph that. But people like that it's fun."

Unlike her new husband, Envy had been through a costume change into another dress. More Vivienne Westwood, yes, and one that still said bride as loud as it could, but in a lighter and - most importantly - more maneuverable kind of way. The team had also re-done her hair into something a little more relaxed. Of course.

That wasn't why she was actually looking a little more relaxed, though.

There was a party on. Why wouldn't Lucifer be in the area? He swanned in in one of his usual suits, smirk firmly in place, and surveyed the community center.

Not entirely terrible.

Like, yes, she'd slagged the island off two weeks ago, and yes, the party was here now. These two things could coexist.

Ulysses was not the biggest fan of going to (presumably) straight weddings, but he'd been promised there'd be free food and drinks and he was kind of a sucker for those, so...

He was there, in a suit no less, and looking around looking kind of impressed.

Kind of reminded him of some of the more fancy parties he'd been to in LA, even.

"Hi, hello, welcome," Peter said, breezing towards him. The kid didn't look like a mover or a shaker, but it didn't hurt to say hi, would it? "Food and drinks are over there, feel free to grab whatever you like."

Yeah, like Summer was going to miss a party, even if she didn't know the people throwing it and her date was a koala (but very dapper, in his little vest and matching bowtie). She was here, looking around and was absolutely taking fucking notes.

Charlie was here and still bouncy. Her a fabulous skirt with a fancy tank top was perfect for dancing or just hanging out and watching all the people.

For all that Peter and Envy had thrown themselves into their roles of Hegemon of Earth and Interdimensional Popstar, Karla was actually glad to have a day or so to herself where she didn't have to be Queen, but simply Karla. And if her eyes were tracing around the unfamiliar faces standing in old familiar spaces, keenly feeling the lack of people she'd once been closer to than life...

Well. And so it goes. No time to be melancholy about it. It was a wedding, after all.

Well, one simply couldn't go to the wedding and then skip the party afterwards. What would be the point of that?

And so Liliana was there, sipping her wine and people watching a fair bit. Well, specifically the bride and groom. They were an interesting pair.

Drinks

Behind the dividers, there is a bar, with an impeccably dressed bartender. But before you go to him, why not pass by the ornate champagne fountain, first? The bartender will be happy to serve you as you wish if that isn't to your taste, however, including anything from the lavish cocktail menu.

Okay, so maybe Yukari's goal of trying each one of the cocktails on the list was a little Lofty, but she was going to try, dammit! Free drinks were free drinks!

And, as far as she was concerned, the bride and groom owed her for that twenty bucks she spent on that dumb hat yesterday!

(Which, it should be noted, she was also wearing tonight).

Food

Set across the tables are a truly staggering amount of different canapés. Would you like some wagyu tataki? Or duck effiloche on chicory leaves? Perhaps you are more for the prawn ceviche, or the asparagus confit with balsamic reduction. There are also caviar tater tots and small grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato jam, for those who like their simple meals fancied up.

Either way, there's (extremely fancy) food for everyone.

She was also trying to make sense of what any of this food stuff on offer even was.
