"No, no, no," Summer tried explaining to Tino for probably the tenth time as he skeptically popped another jello jelly bean into his mouth, "I made the vodka out of the rosé-flavored jelly beans, and then used that vodka to make the new jelly beans made out of jello. So I took the jelly bean that was't boozy, made booze out of it, and then made new beans that were boozy out of the booze I made from the beans that weren't boozy."

Once again, he just stared at her, but, this time, she was pretty sure there was some sort of judgement there on how she chose, apparently, to spend her time today.

"Oh, shut up," she concluded, and turned to go find something else to do that didn't involve talking to him. "People are gonna love it."

He could just stick with the other bean one instead, then.

Summer opened his mouth to ask what she thought jello beans could possibly be, other than what they were, and then remembered she had baked beans on the specials board, too.

But she was very quickly grabbing one of the little cups of portioned out jello beans for Rey and sliding them over to her with a pleased smile.

"Probably not," she said, "because you are going to love them to a dangerous degree. They're just little bites of jello shapes like jelly beans! And these ones I actually made from a vodka that I infused with jelly beans that are meant to taste like rosé, so it's like...levels of jelly beans. Jelly bean-ception!"

"So you made alcoholic candy," Rey said, picking one up to try. "Though they sound like a good and also terrible idea."

The phrase 'take these away from me' would probably get used by someone tonight.

Stark came in carrying a small box of cupcakes which also featured jelly beans. That was how he'd spent his morning. Baking tiny cakes full of tiny candy beans. It had just seemed like the thing to do.

"Hi," he said, setting the box down as he got to the bar and leaned across it for the usual kiss hello.

"No," said Summer cheerfully, "not yet."

And if her kiss hello in return was a bit distracted, well, what did you expect, Stark? Coming in here with a box like that for her to be all curious about.

"What's that?" she asked, wasting no time once that was out of the way, eyes lingering on it a moment before she went to at least get Stark's jello shots now before she got even further distracted by what she could only assume would be awesome presents for her.

"I think it depends on your definition of candy," Summer allowed, because she was sure someone on this island (let her not name(Ignis)names!) would take contention with the classification, but she did not suspect Harley would be one to hem and haw over the finer details. But she had a little cup of the jello beans ready to go, lifting them up as if in salute before setting them down wherever Harley landed with a pleased grin, "but pretty much, yes. Jello beans! Like jelly beans, but squishier and boozier!"

What more could you ask for??

Yeah, no, Harley was definitely not one to split hairs on that. If it looked like candy and at least somewhat tasted like candy? It was candy.

And the excited little noise she made upon getting to inspect the jello beans more closely seemed to communicate hearty approval. "Oh, you're a genius, Summer!"

Honestly, Logan should have just turned right around once he saw the specials listed there. His expression as he sat down said he really should have checked out the other bar in town. But noooo. He had to be stubborn since this was Kitty's place.

And also he was an idiot.

Like Summer was every going to complain about more people at her bar, no matter what the reasons.

Well. Stewart notwithstanding.

But since she was pretty sure Logan wasn't going to be weird and creepy at her (like that), she was all beaming smiles when he came in.

So....sorry about that, Logan.

"Hey! How's it going? What's sounding good tonight?"

She gave a less than subtle glance toward the specials board encouragingly and then lifted her brows expectantly when she turned back to him for an answer.

"A whiskey," Logan said because he didn't believe in joy or whimsy. His was a life of tragedy and pain and yellow spandex! "Does that say baked beans?"

He was not nearly as good at meeting all the new people as he used to be.

Logan narrowed his eyes at him, clearly very suspicious of all the friendly behavior that this town just seemed to exude. Because it was fucking weird. Everyone, you hear that? It was weird.

The best he was getting was a grunt of acknowledgement around a sip of overly fancy whiskey. Putting any social onus on Logan was clearly just a poor choice for anyone.

Stewart was here, again, at the bar, slouching as best he could at the furthest end of it he could manage and squinting a little at the specials board. His fingers seemed to drum somewhat nervously on the bar itself, too, while he waited to be served, but he seemed to notice that he was doing it and promptly stopped, focusing on his dubious glaring instead.

Sighing heavily, Summer strongly considered just sending Tino over to help Stewart, but she felt like she almost had to give him more chances or it was admitting some sort of defeat? Like his whole goal in being here was just to see if he could drive her away. That definitely seemed to be working, if that was the case!

So she sighed again when she reached the end of the bar.

"Stewart," she said. "What can I get for you?"

In his waiting, Stewart had seen a few of the cups of jelly beans around, and so that certainly seemed to be the draw today.

"I am curious," he said, "about those jello beans, and maybe even....truly?" He arched an intrigued brow. "Baked beans? In a jello shot? While I am not in the least bit surprised, I have to admit, Summer, I find myself strangly...."

He paused, just slightly too long, certainly long enough for Summer to dread what word might actually leave his mouth, and he grinned.

"....curious."

Now let him bask in that sigh of relief.

"Okay, look, I'm gonna try it," Raiden assured Summer as he sat down, "but I gotta know if the baked beans did something wrong to deserve this."

"Yeah," said Summer, who promptly set a baked bean jello shot in front of Raiden with a nod, "they give my dad terrible gas every single time he eats them. But that's not the point. I think the point is that your perspective is clearly skewed, and you should be asking what the baked beans did to be elevated to such a high standard of art, instead. It's all about perspective, Raiden!"
