Caritas; Wednesday [11/20].

When Summer came into the bar that evening, Tino asked her if she wanted to know his family's special recipe for stuffing, and she said no, but he told her anyway, and then she told him that now she was going to take that recipe and put it in jello, and so if anyone wondered why Tino was sulking at one end o the bar, it was because he had learned a very important lesson (which, let's be real, he should know by now with how long they'd been working together) in never telling Summer anything she doesn't want to know, because she will absolutely take that information and try to use it against you in any way she can.

And Summer was sulking because she really did mean it, she really didn't want to know, because you knew whatever was a traditional recipe in Tino's family had to be knowledge that no normal human should ever have to carry, which was why, on occasion, she just would occasionally find herself shouting out, "Really, Tino? Fucking raisins??" and looking at him like he was the ultimate scum of the Earth, because she was now convinced he very well may be.

Stark's eyebrow went up.

"No oatmeal raisin cookies then,"he said, mostly to himself.

"It was a quiet day, as usual. Not even too much to read on radio this morning. Your day is all right so far? Aside from... whatever I'm not asking about."

"Maybe for another day then," Stark said. "Craisins but no raisins."

He reached for the cherry shot first.

"The bar wouldn't seem quite right without him, if he did vanish. But... maybe a long vacation."

Or a replacement guy with 97% les weirdness.

"You do have to deal with him more than I do," Stark agreed. "I'm sorry for that. Anything I can do to make up for him this evening?"

"I'll rephrase," Stark said. "Sorry. Sorry. How about...I'll try to help you forget all about him once we leave?"

"Once we leave tonight you'll forget what we were even talking about now," Stark tried again. "I promise."

Bold words but he thought he could deliver.

He had picked up on that over time, yes.

"Good."

Stark grinned at her then leaned forward for another kiss. One a little less appropriate for a workplace, even this one, than the one he'd given her when he walked in. A promise of things to come.
