There was a cotton candy machine in the bar today. Kitty had no idea why, Tino had no idea why, so she just ran with it.

Maybe it was a sign of a possible carnival invasion? Maybe a squirrel did it. Maybe it was just a sweet gift?

"Won't the candy melt? Hello, Kitty."

[throughaphase]

"If it does it should still taste like cotton candy and that's the important part," Kitty told him.

Sugar. It all tasted like sugar.

[stykera]

"That's a good point," Stark said with a nod. Good thing he had a ridiculous sweet tooth.

"May I have one, please?"

He was not taking off his ridiculous giant Muppet coat yet.

[throughaphase]

"You may," she said, grabbing a glass. Did she have a bowl of cotton candy behind the bar for drinks/snacking in case no one wanted drinks? Yes. "You look cozy."

When life gives you a cotton candy machine...

"It's cold," Stark said with a sigh. "The coat helps. Usually."

He really needed to look into warm travel destinations.

"You're well? In spite of the cold?"

[throughaphase]

"Oh yeah. I'm from Chicago and can be intangible and I do just fine," she told him, passing over the drink. "Otherwise I'd be at home under six snuggies right now."

Going intangible was cheating.

"Those are the ones with the sleeves?" Stark checked. "I liked those when they appeared. Does Lexi mind the cold?"

What about Clint and his arms??

Kitty shrugged. "Kids are immune to cold. It's a fight to get her to wear gloves. I think all the energy keeps them warm."

[stykera]

"Maybe that's the trick to it. Don't stay still long enough to feel the cold."

Stark would not be trying that, thanks. He would be trying his drink though after pulling out his phone to take a picture of it. It was pink. Someone else might need to see it later.

"I don't think it will work for me. So I have the big coat."

Which looked like someone had skinned a few Muppets. Maybe they had.

"And drinks help, sometimes. I don't remember having one like this before? But I like it. You've tried it?"

"I have not," Kitty said. "When a cotton candy machine appears, you throw some in a drink and hope for the best."

[stykera]

"That makes sense."

Stark grinned at her then. "More sense than many things I've had to drink here."

"It's not a bars bar to clear," she nodded.

[stykera]

"It is not," Stark agreed. "I keep coming back every week all the same."

Perhaps it wasn't the drinks bringing him in? Shocking but true.

"Hello Katerina Pryde-Barton," Yelena said as she eyed the specials board.

Did she know Katerina was not Kitty's real name? Yes. But she felt like upgrading Kitty's name today.

"I'm thinking you did the drink special since Tino would have screwed it up somehow. I will have one of the specials if you came up with it."

"Ooh, of all my nicknames that's first time I've been Katerina," she noted. "Cotton candy special coming right up."

"Really? That's the first time?" Yelena asked. "I feel like I need to come up with alternatives now."

"I'm usually Katya or Katzchen, depending on the user's place of origin," she said, starting on the drink. "Plus a couple of others I don't need to get started here."

"Oh well, someone has broken out the foreign languages for you," Yelena joked. "I'm just going to have to go in a different direction for you, Caterpillar."

"Caterpillar?" Kitty repeated.
