Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Rey had gotten back on Wednesday, hadn't come down to the warehouse yesterday, and today when she got there, everything was caked in a thick layer of dust. She was blaming Fandom for it, and it was very unfair when she hadn't been gone that long. In fact, she'd been gone longer before. A week and a half was nothing.

She was going to do some cleaning before she got to anything else today.

"Why?" Just wondering.

"You might have noticed that Jedi don't get a lot of time off," Anakin said, smiling. "It took a long time for me to get used to the idea of relaxing."

"I think people think that's the case with me," Rey admitted.

Anakin's lips quirked up in a small smile. "They might."

[thatwaslucky]

"It's kind of annoying," she said.

[sith_happened]

"Do you feel like you relax enough?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"I do," she said. "Just maybe not the way other people want me to."

[sith_happened]

"How do they want you to relax?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

Rey shrugged. "No idea. But I keep being told I have to remember to do it."

She understood it from Liliana. That one made sense to her.

"My guess is doing nothing on a beach with a drink."

Anakin wrinkled up his nose. "But the sand."

"I don't mind the sand but it's boring on your own," she said with a shrug. "The active things suit me better."

"I can see that," Anakin said. "I was never one for standing still in my twenties, either."

"It's easier in your- now?"

She maybe didn't know how old Anakin was.

"I've learned the value of slowing down slightly," Anakin said. "Very slightly."

[thatwaslucky]

"Not that you would get crazy with it," she teased.

[sith_happened]

"I'm known for my constraint," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

Rey stopped sweeping, leaning a little on the broom. "Do you think people's expectations of you were correct?"

Anakin shook his head. "People's expectations of me were so wildly different that there was no way I could meet all of them."

"Even with people you knew?" she asked.

[sith_happened]

He nodded. "What Obi-Wan was expecting and what Palpatine was expecting were not the same."

[thatwaslucky]

"Did any of it match what you were expecting from yourself?" Rey wondered.

[sith_happened]

"No," Anakin admitted. "I fell pretty short of what I wanted for myself."

[thatwaslucky]

"It's unfair," she said simply.

[sith_happened]

"Life generally is," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"That's a bit more pessimistic than I usually go for," she admitted.
