Raiden had come across an old pizza restaurant menu recently, and he thought it would be a fun set of specials for this week!

Some of the staff disagreed. Raiden wasn't sure if they didn't like chopped onions, or if they had some other objection.

"Howzit, Raiden, what's goo-- oh."

Steve had started reading the choice.

"Steve! We're kickin' it old school this week, buddy!" Even more old school than the phrase 'kickin' it old school,' in fact.

"Are we?" Steve asked, squinting at the offerings. "Papaya on pizza?"

"People already accept pineapple on pizza," Raiden reasoned. "Why not?" Personally, he thought it was kind of fun to see 'Hawaiian pizza' mean something different.

"I'm sure Danny would have a thousand reasons why not," Steve said with a laugh. "I should bring it home to watch him flail."

"Or you could try one of the more exotic locales," Raiden pointed out. "Not every day you see a Swiss pizza!"

It had bologna on it, an ingredient everyone associated with Switzerland and thought was very normal to put on pizza, except the opposite of that.

"True," Steve said, "but did I need to see a Swiss pizza? Or one with kippered salmon on it?"

"Or fruit cocktail!" Raiden exclaimed, sounding...way too positive about that possibility. "Remember, you're the only one who can decide that." Or decide not to do that to yourself (and Danny) because Raiden sure wasn't gonna stop you.

"I think there's probably only two of these that I can bring home at a time before Danny locks me out of the apartment," Steve admitted.

"But you're bringing him home delicious pizza," Raiden said, confused, because he assumed these pizzas were delicious.

"Yeah, I'll also order a pepperoni," Steve admitted.

"Can't go wrong with pepperoni," Raiden agreed, even if it was the boring choice, Danny. "Love the whole sausage family."

Steve snickered because of course he did. "I've heard that about you," he teased. "Okay, now I should just close my eyes and point for the non-Hawaiian one, huh?"

"Adventurous," Raiden said with a nod. "I like it. Let fate decide!"

That way, it was fate's fault.

That argument would not save Steve. He closed his eyes and pointed. "English pizza! Heh, like his ex-wife. He'll love it."

Danny would not love it.

That really depended on how he felt about beans.

On his pizza.

"Excellent choice!" Raiden exclaimed. "So it'll be that and the pepperoni?" You couldn't forget the Hawaiian (with papaya!) could you, Steve?

"And the Hawaiian," Steve said. "I've never had papaya on pizza."

There may be a reason for that.

"Great choices!" Raiden said like the optimist he was. "I'll get that in for ya. How've you been, buddy? We missed you in Barbados!"

"Someone had to stay here and protect the island from invasion," Steve said with a laugh. "And I've been good aside from some light kidnapping on Thursday."

Normal thing, Raiden. Very normal.

"Kidnapping?" Raiden asked. "Everybody all right?"

Steve nodded. "It was a pretty exciting few hours, but Danny and I are fine now." He smiled. "I was in a car chase."
