For better or for worse, Summer had definitely been working through some of her recent feelings through her jello shots this week. It was honestly the perfect kind of personal therapy. She got to do something to distract her, she got to do some research for ideas and challenge herself to make them happen, and then she got to post pictures of the results on her socials and get almost instant validation and praise. All that internet clout and fake likes improved her mood substantially, and she came into the bar wit ha singsong warning to Tino that if he did anything to rock the delicate balance of her current good mood, he would regret it.

That seemed to work well enough, and now Summer was trying to think of the best way to display some of her shots here in the bar because they looked amazing and needed to be admired, thank you.

But he could....oh, never mind.

"If you're sure," Summer stated slowly, finishing up the line and then getting started on the drink. "I made 'em nice and extra fancy today, too."

Maybe he could if he relaxed but sometimes he was very bad at that!

"I'm sure. Sorry. Didn't mean to be confusing. They look nice. "

He picked up the spicy one first. There was a little coughing.

Sometimes??

"Thanks," Summer said, simply enough, with a small, pleased smile, because even if he was just trying to be less awkward, she knew they did look pretty fucking great. "Did you do anything interesting in your classes today?"

"Jon took us to a beach," Stark said, suddenly very interested in a spot on the bar top again. "That was... clothing optional..."

Of all the details in that sentence, the 'clothing optional' part was not the most confusing one.

"Wait," Summer said, "Jon took you all to a nude beach? Jon? Our Jon? Jonathan Sims? Nervous little British guy that looks like something Liliana might have raised up and said 'oh, no, we should put that one back'?"

Said with the utmost love, of course.

"I don't think he meant to. It was..."

"Surprising," Stark said finally. "Maybe for everyone."

He'd mostly just tried not to look at anyone.

"Ohmygooooooooooooood."

If anything was going to convince Summer that she should start taking more classes again, that was a great start.

"Amazing. I love that. So much."

Poor Jon. Maybe she should do a wellness check on him at some point.

"Wait, who's all in that class, anyway? Did you go for the clothing option? Or nah?"

Yes, she already knew the answer to that, but come on, you really expected her to not poke at this if given half the chance? Stark may be determined to be awkward and uncertain, but that was so not even her style anymore.

"I was clothed! I had..."

A pause. A frown. "My pink swim trunks."

He'd grabbed them for whatever reason after being informed about the beach of it all and he hadn't thought about that until just now.

And if anything was going to take the wind out of her excitement sails over 'oops all nekkid beach trip,' it was probably going to be that.

"Oh," she said, as the awkwardness successfully made its way over to the other side of the bar and se winced a little apologetically, although, like, also, he didn't have to mention that particular detail, either.

"Well," she then said, in a bid for recovery, "they are pretty good shorts. If you're going with the clothes option, at least you're making it stylish."

Maybe it would help if they remembered that the shorts had been given to him when they truly were just friends. Maybe.

"They are good," Stark allowed. "My stylist has good taste."

The thought had definitely crossed Summer's mind! But, seeing as she was also wondering if she should make the usual stylist joke or if it would just be a little on the side of cruel to do so, Stark went ahead and threw it out there, and she seemed to breathe out a little easier. Then, she regained a crooked sort of smile.

"She had great taste, actually," she corrected, "but don't worry. I won't tell you said otherwise."

Sidesteps, missteps, stumbling steps, steps forward and back...there would be all sorts of steps to deal with for a while.

"Has," Stark said. "Unless something's gone horribly wrong."

And sometimes those sidesteps, missteps, and stumbling steps took the form of a poorly timed typo.

"That's what I meant," said Summer. "Just a slip of the tongue. She will always have great style and will also always share that talent with people who need it most."

"I may not need it as much," Stark admitted.

Because there would be fewer Occasions to attend. At least that's how he foresaw things going.

"But you're right. She always will. And...that's a good thing. For everyone."
