Fandom Island Museum, Thursday Daytime

Plans for organizing things in the employee areas had turned into orders of various organizational supplies. Which had, in turn, turned into a jungle of cardboard boxes in the lobby when Steven arrived for work.

Steven set about opening the boxes, inventorying what was inside, and carrying things to the back as needed.

It was possible he was going to wait on the heavier items and see if he could convince Marc to move them before Steven left for home that evening. (It was also possible that Marc was going to laugh when he heard it.)

Regardless, Steven was still out in the lobby more often than not, so he was there for visitors. They just needed to mind their step was all.

And come lunchtime, there was Watts, bobbing and weaving amongst the boxes to get to the Welcome Desk- including stepping over at least one or two boxes that he could have gone around. And going around several boxes that he didn't actually need to either.

"Hello, you."

Steven looked up from where he was surrounded by brown paper that had been used to cushion some of the smaller parcels. He smiled when he saw Llewellyn. "Hello, you. Lunchtime already?"

"Lunchtime already," Watts affirmed, holding up the lunch nag as proof. "Ready for a break, then?" he surveyed the lobby with a raised eyebrow.

Steven looked around him, letting out a whoosh of breath. "May as well be? It's not getting done in five minutes, I can tell you that."

"Seems to me as if a break is well-deserved," Watts said firmly, placing his hat on the desk. Would he have said that if it looked as if Steven hadn't done any work on the boxes at all? Hard to say.

Steven went to put out the sign saying he was taking lunch. Then he realized he didn't know where it was at the moment. He dug through the brown paper surrounding him until it finally surfaced. "Aha! Here we are. Lunchtime can now begin."

"Wonderful," Watts said, reaching to take Steven's arm in his.

Steven linked arms with him. He looked briefly concerned when some of the brown paper fluttered to the floor, but shrugged when nothing seemed to be harmed by it. He could always clean that up later.

"Me or you?" Steven replied with a grin. "Wonderful, that is."

"You," Watts replied, without hesitation.

If he noticed any papers fluttering to the floor, he gave no indication.

"Then I shall say thank you," Steven told him. "Though add that I find you wonderful as well."

"And I thank you in kind," Watts said, gaze darting around quickly before he pressed a brief kiss to Steven's cheek.

Steven looked at Llewellyn curiously for the hesitation.

Watts noted that curious look, shoulders hunching down as he subconsciously curled inward. "I- sorry," he said, sheepishly.

"What's wrong?" Steven whispered, looking at him with concern now.

"Nothing, nothing," Watts said. "Just- force of habit, I suppose."

They weren't yet at their usual lunch spot, after all.

"Long as it's nothing new?" Steven checked.

[pocketpretzels]

"No," Watts said. "Sorry," he added again.

"It's fine," Steven assured him. "You only seemed more reticent is all. I wanted to be sure something hadn't happened to add to your fears."

"Not add to, no," Watts scratched his chin. "Same old concerns."

"All right," Steven said. "Everything else weighing on your mind of late I wasn't certain."

"I have been a bit... gloomy, haven't I?" Watts said, making a face.

Steven rubbed Llewellyn's arm with his free hand, taking care to avoid the scar tissue. "With good reason."

"Your patience is appreciated," Watts told him. "In case you were not aware."

[hasaknightjob]

"You're welcome," Steven said. "It's a limitless supply where you're concerned. Like my love."

"Lucky me," Watts said, bumping their shoulders together.
