Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

The warehouse had a rowing machine, thanks to Anakin's last upgrade. Rey still didn't get it. She'd never used an exercise machine in her life. She'd never needed to. But if it was going to be here, maybe she should try it?

And about a minute into it, she stopped. Nope, still didn't get it.

"We get spied on by squirrels every day, we deserve some secrets," Rey said. "We don't need the awkwardness."

"Rory and her crippling coffee addiction bag thank you," Anakin said.

Rey's eyes widened. "It's bad enough for a bag?"

[sith_happened]

"A coffee bag," Anakin said, nodding.

[thatwaslucky]

"Oh, Rory," she sighed. "Now I'm concerned."

[sith_happened]

"She says it goes with the day job, but she promises to cut back," Anakin said.

"So you think she's serious?"

Rey did not, sorry Rory.

Anakin shook his head. "I've seen how much coffee her mother drinks."

"This is making me really glad I never got dependent on it," she said, getting up from the machine. "Or caf."

"It's good to have one vice," Anakin said with a little smile.

[thatwaslucky]

Rey gestured to their surroundings.

She knew herself.

"Being a workaholic is a very common vice," Anakin teased.

[thatwaslucky]

Nearby Jaina was insisting that wasn't a bad thing.

"It's fun," she said with a shrug.

[sith_happened]

"That's because of the lava," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"It's a reason," she admitted, speaking slowly because she worried about encouraging him.

[sith_happened]

"Are you saying that's not the only reason?" Anakin asked, smiling.

[thatwaslucky]

"Well, yeah," she said. "I like all of it, and I get to see you on Fridays," she said.

Yes, you were a reason, deal with it.

Anakin tried not to look terribly pleased at that response and utterly failed. "Really?"

"Yes," she said. "You probably should have been able to guess that one."

She put up with lava. LAVA.

Anakin ducked his head. "I'm not good at knowing when people aren't just putting up with me," he finally admitted.

"You're family," she said, and added, "On purpose."

Not like somebody in her family tree that she tried not to acknowledge.

"Thank you," Anakin said with a smile, sincere, smile.

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm pretty sure you e said the same to me," she pointed out.

[sith_happened]

"It's different on the receiving end," he said.

[thatwaslucky]

"I know. But know that it's true," she said.
