Fandom Beach, Saturday mid-morning

If you'd been on the beach this morning, you might've thought that the man dressed in linen and wearing a Tahitian black pearl on a cord around his neck sitting quietly in the sand as he dried off had arrived right from the ocean.

But that would be extremely extra, wouldn't it? And Poseidon, god of the sea, was never anything but low key. Ignore hurricanes. And floods. And tsunamis.

He sat there, letting the wind blow his hair around, and stared out at the water. If the waves were bigger than they should be for a beach in Maryland, well, sometimes that happened.

Was that an unusually large duck wearing a shirt and hat bustling down the beach, talking to himself semi-incomprehensibly in a high-pitched voice about how it was a great day for a swim? Yes, yes it was.

And, if one was capable of seeing ghosts, they might notice the spirit of a rather amused-looking, very large blond man in armor trailing behind said duck, asking anxiously, Are you related to Howard? Good sir, I beg you answer me.

Unfortunately, Donald Duck did not have the same connection to Thor as Donald Blake, and was not in the habit of seeing spirits, so he remained oblivious to Thor's pleas.

"Who-oah, there, little duck fellow," Johnny Splash called out when spotting the well-dressed water fowl bustling by, "don't suppose you know Rebel by any chance, do ya?"

Ohmygod, Johnny, you couldn't just assume all ducks knew each other!

But, in his defense, this was his first time out of the bathroom.

"Who're you callin' a rebel, pal?" Donald demanded, in his...rather unique voice.

Poseidon again checked his memory to see if he'd turned anyone into waterfowl recently, then waved amiably. "I like your hat."

"Thanks!" Donald exclaimed, doffing said hat at the human(?). "I like your ahhhh...pearl! It's very shiny."

Assuming Poseidon could understand a word he said.

Poseidon was very good with languages! "Thank you," he said, reaching up to toy with it. "It's from Tahiti."

"Is that near Schenectady?" Donald wanted to know.

Donald was from Orlando, himself.

Stark was in the habit of seeing spirits and his eyebrow raised at seeing one following a talking duck who wore a shirt but no pants. He watched for a moment before turning his attention back to said duck.

"You're new," he said. It was almost a question. He would have noticed a large, talking duck on the island before.

Donald looked around to see who else Stark might have been talking to before asking, "Who, me?" He didn't feel new. He felt like he always had!

Did Donald feel pantsless though? Because he was.

"I'm Stark," Stark said slowly. "Hello?"

What would he need pants for? He was a duck! "Hello," Donald said in return. Well. More like 'hewwo,' but he was doing his best here. "Are you going for a swim too? It's a great day for swimming!"
