Did Padme know that she needed to go to work at a bar? No. No, she did not. But she did need a drink as she figured out how best to address her current situation and that somehow ended up being said bar.

And then the bartender there had taken one look at her and her over the top outfit and disappeared for five minutes before returning in a matching outfit.

How long had Tino had that just waiting? Why had Tino had that waiting? These were questions to ponder and never learn the true answers to because, well, Tino.

These weekends were odd but sometimes odd was a good thing. Like when you were in the market for different things to focus on, for example.

"Oh." That wasn't Jane but Stark probably should have expected that. "Do you work here now?" Whoever you were.

Anakin gave a wave. "That's Padme Amidala," he said. "She's from home."

[stykera]

"You know her from your home?" Stark asked. "From...before. Oh. That's...new? Unless you just mean your galaxy and not your version and your time of it?"

Well, he wasn't going to announce they'd been secretly married for years in case that was also news to Padme.

"I've known Padme since I was nine," he said instead.

But Anakin! The island needed some hot gossip!

"I haven't known anyone that long," Stark said.

He'd been a child once, surely, but that was a long time ago and better left in the past.

"It's not terrible," Anakin said with a smile at Padme.

Anakin was taking this temporary reappearance of a dead loved one remarkably well. Growth!

"Good," Stark said with a nod. "I'd be happy to see someone from home too."

Oh, the breakdown would be in the shower like any well-adjusted middle-aged man!

"It's definitely unexpected."

On account on the attempted murder, etc.

Stark would buy him a drink after the weekend was over! Or several. They could have a boys' night.

"These things always are," he said. "For everyone involved I think."

"Oh, Padme will be fine," Anakin said with a grin. "Jane will be awkward again."

[stykera]

"I'm always awkward," Stark said, because despite rumors to the contrary he was self-aware. "I can offer advice."

[sith_happened]

Anakin chuckled. "On this particular relationship, I doubt it."

[stykera]

"Not on specifics," Stark clarified. "Just on awkwardness. I'm very good at awkward."

[sith_happened]

"I'm not awkward with Padme," Anakin said, skipping right past his 19 year old self. "The situation is just...timelines meshing that make things difficult. But she doesn't need to know about it."

[needsacatchphrase]

"I guess so?" Padme said, looking around. "I was sort of shooed back here."

Tino was too lazy to actually bartend most days.

[stykera]

Lucky for Tino the place wasn't open every night these days.

"Oh. I'm sorry. About Tino." Everyone was sorry about Tino, right?

"Could I have a...Yub Nub?" Stark didn't know what any of them were but that one had a fun name to say.

[needsacatchphrase]

"Of course," Padme said, willing to just give it the ol' space college try. It would be an awful drink. A truly awful drink.

[stykera]

Oh, this bar had seen so much worse. So had Stark. It would be fine. Well, it would be awful but he'd survive.

"You're new then? To...here."

[needsacatchphrase]

"Well, I woke up here this morning, but Anakin doesn't think it was a real kidnapping and he's sort of the expert on those." Rescuing her from them, that is.

[stykera]

"Is he?" Stark asked. "I've never known him to be kidnapped."

Unlike Stark who was once kidnapped by a raccoon cult. Sigh.
