Caritas - Open [6/27]

Veronica was still running on nerves and caffeine when she got to work. She was grateful to see Tino was back from wherever he'd been, though he snorted at her when she asked if he'd had a nice vacation.

Aaron hadn't appeared to her again since Anakin chased him off. She was hoping that was a good sign, even though Piper hadn't been able to help her.

Walter came back, got a refresher to help cool the blush in his cheeks that was entirely due to alcohol, yes.

"Have you figured it out yet?" he asked Nadia while he tried to see if Blair had made any more progress with his dittos.

"Take your time." Walter held his drink up in a toast. "Just know you can't escape without singing."

Walter started laughing and leaned closer to her. "I remember. How did that song go? 'Shut up and make out?'"

Nadia giggled back. "I think that should be a private showing. Maybe later." She gave him a quick kiss and tossed back the rest of her drink.

"Right! Here I go!"

Blair clapped for Nadia as he finished up his latest drink and started another ditto.

Before he could finish writing what he wanted to do next, he gulped and looked over at Walter, Nadia and Pip. Or rather, many Walters, Nadias and Pips. "Dudes. Stop moving all wobbly."

Nadia was tempted to wave her fingers in front of his face. "Okay, Blair, time to stick to water for awhile. And maybe eat something."

Walter pushed some pretzels over in front of Blair. "A little something to soak up the alcohol and do stick with the water. I don't want to carry you up the hill. You have to be conscious enough to stagger."

He handed Nadia another drink, though. It was almost traditional for when she finished singing.

Blair studied the pretzels for a long time before taking one and eating it. "Staggering. 'Nother tradition?"
