Caritas - Saturday evening
Tino was being suspiciously nice to GOB this evening. He even prepared a drink for GOB for when he walked into the bar. "A banana daiquiri?" GOB asked suspiciously. "Thanks." It didn't smell poisoned. It didn't taste poisoned. It seemed like Tino was being randomly kind tonight.
"Seriously, this is pretty good. I didn't know you could make them this gooooooooooo--"
GOB slipped on a banana peel and hit his head on the ground. Tino dragged him to the back room and locked it.
Tonight was Shirtless Saturday at Caritas.
[OOC: I will likely not be around much tonight, therefore GOB is passed out in the back room. Please mod Tino. Drinks are half-price if you're not wearing a shirt, but this IS a community post. Ladies, please wear bras. Everyone, please keep things clean. Half-naked, yes, but clean. Don't make me make an admin complaint about myself.]

The Stage [12/16]
Re: The Stage [12/16]
Stripping off his shirt and jacket, he went up on stage, and played a very fiery and fast tempoed set.
Re: The Stage [12/16]
She kinda just stood there watching for the whole set.

Re: The Stage [12/16]
In fact, because she was a nun, she didn't get to see stuff like that that appealed so well to that female part.
She cheered wildly and appriciatively.
Re: The Stage [12/16]
I was born in the wagon of a travelin' show
My mama used to dance for the money they'd throw
Papa would do whatever he could
Preach a little gospel
Sell a couple bottles of Doctor Good
Gypsies, tramps and thieves
We'd hear it from the people of the town
They'd call us gypsies, tramps and thieves
But every night all the men would come around
And lay their money down
Picked up a boy just south of Mobile
Gave him a ride, filled him with a hot meal
I was sixteen, he was twenty-one
Rode with us to Memphis
And papa woulda shot him if he knew what he'd done
Gypsies, tramps and thieves
We'd hear it from the people of the town
They'd call us gypsies, tramps and thieves
But every night all the men would come around
And lay their money down
I never had schoolin' but he taught me well
With his smooth southern style
Three months later, I'm a gal in trouble
And I haven't seen him for a while
I haven't seen him for a while
She was born in the wagon of a travelin' show
Her mama had to dance for the money they'd throw
Grandpa'd do whatever he could
Preach a little gospel
Sell a couple bottles of Doctor Good
Gypsies, tramps and thieves
We'd hear it from the people of the town
They'd call us gypsies, tramps and thieves
But every night all the men would come around
And lay their money down
Yes, there was a good bit of posing and vamping it up going on there before Yitzhak left the stage again. Very reluctantly, it might be noted.
Re: The Stage [12/16]
The version she's singing is the Ani DiFranco arrangement; all syncopated rhythm and repeated beats.
Frankly, it's pretty damn eerie, and not at all reassuring or hymn-like.
amazing grace
how sweet
the sound
that saved
a wretch
like me...
i once was lost
but now i'm found
was blind
but now--
i see....
'twas grace that taught
my heart
to fear
and grace that fear
relieved....
how precious did
that grace
appear
the hour
i first--
believed
through many dangers
toils
and snares
i have
already come
'twas grace
that brought
me safe
thus far
and grace
will lead
me
home....
and when
this heart and flesh
shall fail
and mortal life
shall cease
i shall
possess
within the vail
a life
of joy
and peace.....
Parker bowed to the band, then headed back to the bar, and Harper.
The Bar [12/16]
Re: The Bar [12/16]
She was also admiring Tino. Because hey, it's been a while.
Re: The Bar [12/16]
no shirtless clark iconsClark looked skeptically at the evening's theme.

That was more than enough excuse for him to bust out the full drag regalia, as far as he was concerned.
Tino didn't seem to think so at first, but a series of well-timed glares, alternating with a come-hither look or two, swayed his resolve nicely, and soon Yitzhak was comfortably perched on a stool, legs crossed, with the brightest pink martini possible.
