Caritas - Thursday, January 4th

Phoebe was feeling a little bit better (thanks to the attentions of her boyfriend and the medicines he kept thoughtfuly bringing her) by Thursday, so she was more than happy to show up for her shift at Caritas. She was looking forward to seeing the new students that had arrived and meet some of them, as well. The only cloud on her mood came from thinking about the phoen call she had received earlier from Aziraphale. She hadn't been listening to the radio lately, so she hadn't known that her big brother was ill. As she cleaned up tables and the bar, she decided that after she closed tonight, she would head over to the clinic and sit with him for awhile.

First, however...

She made her way to the stage and helped put the drummer back together. "I don't think I want to know what you were doing to end up like this," she muttered as she finished putting his pieces in order.

She shook her head and headed to the bar after unlocking the door.

Caritas was now open for the evening.

The stage was all set up and the zombie band can play anything you wish to hear/sing along to.

No really, he's mostly friendly.

Lana stopped by and took a seat at the bar. "Hey, Pheebs," she said tiredly.

Phoebe leaned over and hugged her. "Hey, Lana," she said softly.

Lana hugged her back. "How are you holding up?" she asked.

Phoebe sighed, pulling back. "Aziraphale called me," she explained. "What happened to James? Does any one know?"

"I just know he was attacked and he's in bad shape," Lana replied. "I've been stopping by at night to read to him, but..."

Chris was nervous as he and Wyatt entered the bar. For one thing, he wasn't even sixteen yet and it was probably illegal for him to be here. Well, at least it would be at home.

Mostly though, he was nervous about coming face to face with the aunt who he didn't remember at all. He'd seen pictures, of course. And heard stories. And even read a little about her in the Book of Shadows.

But all that paled in comparison to meeting her. As a teenager, nonetheless.

He took a deep breath and glanced at his brother. "Are we sure this is a good idea?"

"People already know she's our aunt," Wyatt said. "Better she gets it from us than from somebody else."

He looked over at the bar. "That's gotta be her. She looks just like the pictures Grandpa has." He felt a strange pang of loss looking at her, along with a weird feeling that she wanted to eat him. With ranch dressing.

"All right," Chris said, agreeing with Wyatt's assessment of the young woman at the bar. "Let's do this then."

Wyatt headed over to the bar with Chris. He sat down on a stool near the woman behind the bar. "Hi," he said.

As per usual for Phoebe's shift, Bel was there to keep an eye on things.

Phoebe looked up from where she was having a shocking conversation to give her boyfriend a welcome smile and a wave.

Bel took note of the two kids talking to Phoebe. If she was having trouble with them, she'd let him know and he'd deal with it.

Phoebe wondered how Cole would react to the news she had just been given. She sent Tino to take him a drink and to reassure him that she was fine.

"Hey man." Leo greeted a random person.

Didn't this place used to have a dance floor?

For drinking and people watching.

Because we always want to have one for those random nekkid or sexy icon wars...
