Around Town [Saturday Night]

If you look out your window and spot creatures you've only seen in movies and textbooks, you might think you're dreaming.

You're not.

The dinosaurs are still in town and they are PISSED.

[For this post, just ping in with where you are in town in the subject line and a dino will come find you. As always, please be patient as someone will get to you. I promise.]

Fraser had listened to Hades announcement and was, therefore, on his way to Trooper Station to offer assistance if it was needed...in his nice, bright red uniform.

Somewhere behind him, a figure on two legs spotted him, and began following behind. At least until it found a good way to get in front of him.

It wasn't that hard to realize something was behind him but Fraser, being far too trusting, thought it might be Deadpool or a student playing a trick.

If Fraser was really paying attention, he might have seen something move past him really very quickly and then seem to vanish.

It's hiding behind something conveniently. Stupid urban setting.

If it'd been Deadpool behind him, he would've been wet or covered in syrup by now.

He stopped and went very still. "Come out."

Nothing happened. No movement, no noise, nothing.

Will led Michelangelo down towards the town, where most of the noises seem to be coming from.

"This way," she said. "I don't why, but there's dinosaurs all over the place here."

Michelangelo skipped along after Will. He'd seen lots of crazy things in his lifetime, from mutant snapping turtles to Vanilla Ice rapping in his honor, but dino-type dudes were new to him. How did one confront a dinosaur? Could they be reasoned with? Maybe all it would take was a peanut-butter and haggis pizza and they'd be a little more pleasant.

"Duuude."

Fraser remained still, eyes darting from left to right. And then he slowly took a few steps forward.

And that would be when the raptor ended up directly behind him.

Maybe not the haggis, but you never knew. A velociraptor sensed the prey and scurried up behind them to investigate.

It was that feeling that someone was watching you that made Fraser slowly turn around.

"Oh, dear." A smile. "Hello."

Will stopped on the path. She could of sworn she'd heard something in the bushes. Maybe it was just her imagination playing tricks on her.

"Did you hear something?" she asked Mikey.

Mikey blinked up and listened.

"I don't think so. I didn't get to finish my pizza, though. Maybe it was my stomache?"

The raptor sniffed and waited, then leapt out of the bushes in what it thought was a very intimidating way.

With a little chirpy sound, possibly to alert others of the nice tasty food in front of him, should anyone want leftovers, the raptor took a small step forward, snapping its jaws.

And Fraser took a step back.

"This isn't your natural climate," Fraser said because he thinks of these things at the stupidest times. "You shouldn't be able to survive here."

Will hadn't been expecting the dinosaur to jump out at them so fast. She yelled and stumbled backwards, falling to the ground as she tripped over the pavement.

In a flash, she summoned forth the Heart of Candracar from her hand. At least she had magic to protect herself with right?

Mikey didn't jump back, but he did step between Will and the dino for a moment while she got herself pulled back together.

He then stared.

"Dude, you're cute."

The dinosaur, not the Will.

"I kinda wanna keep you."

The raptor gave a trill sound that never really seemed like it left its throat. The subsequent hissing and baring of teeth as it started forward to bite showed that the raptor didn't particular care for being kept as a pet.

The raptor tilted its head curiously, one hand up absently. Those were really big claws. Also, really sharp teeth that were suddenly snapping.

Will pulled herself to her feet as Mikey distracted the dinosaur. Was he cooing at it?

Still. she readied the Heart in her hand, prepared in case it attacked. She couldn't do much more with it than barriers and small energy blasts without fully transforming, but she hoped it would be enough.

Jenny hadn't listened to the radio and had slept through morning announcements, but then she probably wouldn't have cared if she had. What she did care about was that she was down to her last pack of cigarettes, a situation that must be amended. So she was moseying along the street, minding her own business, certainly not expecting dinosaurs.

"You're a carnivore, I know," Fraser said, stepping back. "But, really, thee are so many healthier things you could be eating. I wouldn't be good for your heart at all."

The raptor wasn't expecting Jenny either, so that was a pleasant surprise. From just behind a building ahead of her, it poked its head out, possibly into view, waiting for just the right time to spring out and attack.
