Caritas - Sunday evening [Open]

GOB had finally gotten the book and read most of the first chapter before remembering that he hated reading. He would have gotten online to wank about anything he could think of, but he didn't have a computer.

So he came into work instead.

Some days it was tough to be GOB.

"What is in that, anyway?" Setsuna asked, craning her neck a little. "It smells dreadful."

"Everything with Scotch or Whiskey in the name and Mountain Dew. I do the Dew!"

"Impressive," Setsuna said dryly. "And remind me what again the occasion is? Besides you and your alcoholism?"

Deadpool swirled the drink, it was sophisticated, right?

"No occasion, just wanted to get out for some drinks."

"By yourself...." Setsuna added, with just a hint of suggestion in the bob of her head.

"Yes. By myself."

"Feeding into the alcoholism? Why?"

"Because it seemed like a good idea at the time?" Deadpool suggested. Because feelings were a baaaaad thing to talk about.

Setsuna gave Deadpool a sharp look that spoke volumes on how she was not buying it. "Deadpool," she said, sternly, "I know you did not just come over here and interrupt me in a moment of simple relaxation just because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Both you and I are clever enough and familiar enough with each other to know that that would never be a good idea at any time; so I ask you now to get to whatever it is that's bother you so that we can talk about it and I can stop having to deal with these silly games."

"Nothing's wrong," Deadpool snapped back. "Just felt like going out for a bit of social interaction and there's nothing wrong with that!"

"Yes," Setsuna scoffed a bit. "And out of all the people in this bar right now," she gave a noted look around, "you came to the one you knew to be such a social butterfly, didn't you?"

There was a small grunt. "Well, okay, I'm probably more social than Chad over there, but really, Deadpool....Why are you so insistent that nothing's wrong? Is there really nothing wrong? Because, if there isn't, really, just say the word now, and I'll drop it..." She eyed him sharply, waiting...

"He left a note. Tuesday. Haven't seen him since," Deadpool said after a long pause, staring into his drink. Because that was so much easier.

"...Who left a note?" Setsuna asked, frowning, and, after taking a moment to read into Deadpool's tone, his posture, straightened. "Yondaime-sensei..."

"Didn't feel like hanging out at home alone," He continued, taking a long drink.

Setsuna was quiet for a moment as she looked over at Deadpool. She certainly couldn't blame him that, really, although if he ever continued on saying that this whole thing between Yondaime-sensei and him wasn't what is was, she'd punch him...Even she wasn't that bad about denial. "Well," she said, finally, quietly, after a sip of her own drink, "what did the note say?"

"That he was going home and he'd be back soon." He oh so nicely left out the love thing because he was still working hard to repress it. Like ya do.

And the bit about Arashi's ex being back home. And how he had a few plans involving stabbing a prettyboy pirate-ninja hybrid a lot.

"Well, then, he'll be back," Setsuna offered, simply, although she knew it was never as simple as all that. "Soon. He has class to teach tomorrow, right? Yondaime-sensei has always struck me as a very responsible type; I don't think....he'd shirk on his responsibilities....or that he'd say he was returning if he wasn't going to."

Now was also not the time to bring up how Arashi had left his kid, village and ex-partner behind for 16 years.

Really.

"Yeah." Deadpool downed the rest of the drink. "We'll see."

"...Deadpool," Setsuna said, with a warning tone, intending to bring to the floor that he was digressing into where they were before, and that she couldn't try to help him feel better if he wasn't going to at least talk to her.

Because the angry mom voice of a teenager was so going to work on him. ...maybe if she was a nun it would.

He tossed some money on the bar, pushing back and out of his seat. "I should go home, see if he's back yet."

"Or at the very least, you should go home and get some rest, yes," Setsuna said, shoulders sagging slightly, urge to just shake him rising. It was frustrating; how could he come to her like that, so clearly wanting help, and then fight against her tooth and nail to receive any? He was supposed to be the mentor here, not her! How was she supposed to know what to do to help?

He waved dismissively, heading for the door. "Yeah, yeah. I'll kidnap you for sparring later."

...Ooh, sparring. Mentioning that was just enough to keep Setsuna from yelling at him about leaving like that. Instead, she simply called out after him, "You'd better!"

Seriously, she'll be extremely put off if he didn't. She needed a good spar. The kind that Alphonse would yell at her about. The kind only Deadpool could manage, especially if he was pissed and moody like this.
