"Cough cough cough," GOB coughed. He was dealing with an end of the summer cold. "Hey, Tino," he said. "Cough cough can I cough get a cough cough losenge cough?"

Tino was standing far away from GOB. And, for the sake of safety, wearing a surgical mask.

Tino passed a cough drop down the bar.

"Cough cough thanks," GOB said. "Hack hack cough wheeze."

Troy came up to the stage, stumbling a bit from his heavy buzz; after a quick conference with the zombies, he grabbed the mic. It was like he changed completely: his posture grew erect, his expression cleared, it was like he'd not been drunk at all.

"Hey, ladies and gentlemen," he said. "This goes out to my friend A.J.!"

"What do you want?" Troy asked A.J., nodding to the bar. "I'll get the first round."

"In that case," A.J. said, taking his eyes away from his fingernails where he was trying to pick out some paint from working on the mural with River earlier, "I'm thinking I want whatever's the most expensive."

Troy grinned. "I'll surprise you then," he said, wandering to the bar where he spoke with Tino. Money was exchanged for drinks, and Troy came back with a couple of shots. Shots that glittered with little tiny flecks of gold.

A.J. narrowed his eyes slightly as the drinks came back. "Troy," he said, with dire seriousness despite the amusement in his eyes. "What the hell are those?"

"Goldschlager!" Troy responded, a little excitedly. "It's alcohol, with little bits of gold in it. Like, actual gold. You said you wanted expensive, after all." He grinned. "What's more expensive than gold?"

"But, Troy," A.J. said, hands out in front of him as though ready to explain something very, very complicated, so complicated it would require hand gestures, "it. has. glitter."

Troy frowned for just a moment, just long enough to consider that. "... Well, it's not glitter," he said, finally. "It's gold. ... But would it matter?"

"Of course it would, Troy," A.J. said. "This is very important. Do you know how hard I've worked to avoid glitter in this place?"


...not that it had done him any good, of course, but it was a thing.

"Come on, Sammy," Dean said as he and his brother came in and headed over to the bar. "At least try and enjoy yourself." He ordered two beers from Tino. "Don't make me get out the big guns."

Sam followed Dean reluctantly, still not totally sold on the whole going out to drink for fun idea. "Should I ask what the big guns are, or am I better off not knowing?"
