The Park, 10am Saturday-early afternoon
Yesterday's weather had worried Willow, but according to the weather report Saturday was warmer and so far snow-free.
Willow got to the Park early so she could set up. She cleared a space for dancing, set up music and some food that she'd brought along, then waited for others to show up.
[ooc: OCDa-coming Up! All are welcome. 'tis very informal in nature. And this only takes up a small part of the Park, so plenty of room for others to do Parky things without being crowded.]

Re: Dance!
Taking a step forward, he took Liir's right hand and moved his left to just under his arm and on his shoulder. "As a warning, this is where the hands are supposed to go. I've already given one person permission to kick if they start to wander." There was a mockingly serious look to punctuate the statement.
Re: Dance!
"All right."
Re: Dance!
He started with the basics first, before moving into the turn.
Re: Dance!
"Again?"
He realized what he'd done and he could fix it. It was the other person throwing him off, attempting to keep track of the other person's movements and body parts.
Re: Dance!
He started again, with the same tempo.
Re: Dance!
Re: Dance!
"Very good. Do you want to try without counting?"
Re: Dance!
Re: Dance!
Glitch started again, without counting.
Re: Dance!
Re: Dance!
Glitch figured that if Liir was quick at learning, he should probably teach him a little extra.
Re: Dance!
This had been simple, and as such he didn't look like a fool. But something more complex might make him look like a fool in front of Professor Ambrose... which wasn't something he wanted.
But Professor Ambrose, Glitch, didn't seem to mind when he acted like a fool.
So.
"All right."
Re: Dance!
Re: Dance!
"Okay. I like the music."
He figured Glitch should know.
"What's the thing you're using to play it? It looks different than the one Dean was using the other day."
Re: Dance!
"Like a T.D.E.S.P.H.T.L., only it just projects sound instead of images."
Re: Dance!
...yes, he did remember all the letters.
Re: Dance!
Glitch thought for a moment before explaining further. "It records images and then, uhm, projects them. Then it doesn't stop projecting them until the loop is disrupted."
Re: Dance!
Well, in this case, he liked Glitch so he'd actually keep it to himself instead of doing his best to irritate.
"One of your inventions?" he said instead.
Re: Dance!
There might have been a slight stress on the word meant, but he wasn't quick to elaborate on what it was used for. The idea of it still stung, and as his synapses mulled it over, he might have faltered in his steps. Just a bit.
Re: Dance!
"Do you have the Grimmerie?" he asked, the thought bubbling up from somewhere. The idea of Glitch making new things, making things he'd never heard of, made him think of Elphaba and her work... though the fact that Glitch was telling him about the work immediately ranked him above the Witch.
"When you are? Has anyone ever found it?"
Re: Dance!
"No," he said finally. "Not that they haven't looked for it, but it was never found."
Then they went back to firing, misfiring. "I think."
Re: Dance!
Something flashed behind his eyes, a different time, a different place, what was no more and would never be again but he couldn't catch it, couldn't grasp it. Bittersweet and beautiful, eternal and ephemeral.
If he was questioned later on, he wouldn't say he'd done anything. But if anyone was to question him right this moment, he'd say that he was wishing he could give something as wonderful to Glitch as Glitch had given to him.
Re: Dance!
Memories came back, steady and clear. No missing pieces or faded edges to them. Having Ahamo teach him to dance in the stables when he was still just an inventor at the palace. Taking to it quickly, then staying there afterwards to practice and falling asleep on a pile of hay.
Azkadellia and DG, before the Cave Witch, taking turns standing on his feet as they pretended to dance in the courtyard. The two of them running around after each other and informing him that there was a Royal Decree that he make them the most fascinating toys in the whole Outer Zone.
The first ball he attended as Royal Adviser, dancing only once with a woman from Central City who talked endlessly about a cat she had dyed pink to match her favorite dress. Standing, after that, against the wall with no other offers.
He blinked again as it all settled in, like the snow settled all over the island the day before.
Re: Dance!
Then he noticed that Glitch had stopped and he stepped back, trying to figure out what he'd done wrong or fiddled up or even just if he'd stepped on Glitch's toes.
"Professor Ambrose?"
Had he fouled things up again?
Re: Dance!
"Yes?"
Except, of course, for the slight raise of his eyebrows at the question.
