The Park, 10am Saturday-early afternoon

Yesterday's weather had worried Willow, but according to the weather report Saturday was warmer and so far snow-free.

Willow got to the Park early so she could set up. She cleared a space for dancing, set up music and some food that she'd brought along, then waited for others to show up.

[ooc: OCD a-coming Up! All are welcome. 'tis very informal in nature. And this only takes up a small part of the Park, so plenty of room for others to do Parky things without being crowded.]

Liir was there, dressed in his usual (he'd been tempted to wear some of the clothes for Miss Lulu's class since it was a dance class and for some reason, the idea of dancing in normal clothes was utterly off to him). He hoped Teddy would be there soon. It was better, not being alone doing something. As it was, though, he stood off to the side and tried not to stand out.

Awkwardness was easy to avoid when no one spoke to you. And he would have plenty of that to come today, after all.

After handwavey stopping by the post office to pick up a small package (which was, in fact, fairly large) Glitch made his way to the park.

Brooke showed up for the sole reason that she'd kept reporting on it the other day and was curious as hell as to what it actually was. And hey, any opportunity to be social was a good one, right?

She might take that back later whenever she found a party that really sucked.

So, Chad might have shown up a little late. He wasn't feeling too well, and had been exceedingly cranky every since Teddy had woken him up that morning talking about this dance thing. He didn't care what anyone said, nine o'clock was not sleeping in, dammit. So Teddy decided to go without him, but then Chad started to feel really, really bad about blowing him off like that, and Prince Oscar Pedro was being no help at all, so, reluctantly, downheartedly, he went to the park after all and just hoped Teddy wasn't too irritated with him, but he'd totally understand if he was, really, and didn't want to do dinner later.

Zuko was there, though, he didn't really have an idea that there was dancing. He just happened to pass in the park and then there were people. Funny how that goes.

Turtle was not there to dance. Well, she might be persuaded to, but you'd probably need a pretty impressive case to convince her, and she was a tough judge. She was there because it was an event and there were people, and so it would be important to make an appearance.

Beauty and A.J. had handwavily met up at the dorms and walked down together. He'd brought along a picnic lunch from the diner, as he'd promised, although Beauty had noticed when she peeked inside that it was pretty heavy on the brownies and devils food cookies, and kind of light on anything resembling sandwiches.

That was okay, she thought. Just odd.

She'd also been a little put out that A.J. had seemed too out of sorts to notice that with the dressy-ish skirt she was wearing, Beauty had put on her old scuffed up boots that he loved. Tink would have a heart attack if she saw.

Romeo would much rather be in bed with a romance novel and a huge mug of peppermint schnapps-spiked hot chocolate, but, attracted by the word "courtly," he came to dance. He surveyed the crowd, pleased to find familiar faces.

There's an area with some pizza and donuts from Pizza Planet and J,GoB. Willow had also made cookies. This would be the place to drop off your own picnic goods that you'd like to share, and/or grab food for nibbling.

When he got a moment or two to break away from Beauty for a bit, A.J. went to find food. And, funny, he was hording as much of the chocolate her could find, including the excess amounts of it he'd brought with his picnic basket.

Various forms of music that Willow felt sounded courtly-appropriate are playing. At some point Glitch will give a lesson in Ozian dances, but others are welcome to dance, teach, and enjoy!
