The Arms Hotel Lobby, Friday [5/2]

Today's arrivals would find a large banner with the words "Congratulations Graduates" greeting them as they stepped into the lobby. Mary was waiting at the front desk with the guest register and a lot of fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies. Normally Friday would be River's day and River would have cookies, but Mary felt bad making her work on graduation weekend and gave her the day off.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!
Today's Specials
Chicken, Fig, and Pancetta Bites
Artichoke Toasts
Mozzarella Cherry Tomatoes and Basil Skewers
Gunther's Special Lobster and Portobello Mushroom Dumplings

[Up early since tomorrow morning may be crazy. SP until I get back from work after 3 PM CDT.]

"Tommy really I can carry my own bag." Mary Kessler was saying to an asian man who was carrying a heavy suitcase in one hand, and a duffel bag in the other.

"I told your husband I would look out for you this weekend. Letting you dislocate your shoulder by carrying this bag doesn't qualify. What did you put in here anyway?"

The woman sighed good naturedly and stopped at the check-in desk. "Hello, we'd like two rooms for the weekend please?"

Tori was definitely glad to be back in Fandom. She'd missed this place. She'd booked a room ahead of time, knowing how crowded graduation weekend could get, and was looking forward to staying at the hotel again.

Danny wasn't particularly thrilled to be here. But since his mom was stuck working, it was his job to wave a camera around during his brother's graduation.

"Hey," he offered Mary a polite smile. "Can I get a room?"

Looking rather harried still from dealing with her daughter to be played out later when the player isn't at work, la, Orleanna finally got around to approaching the front desk. "Reservation for Price and Axelroot?" she asked with a heavy, weary sort of sigh.

It was going to be a long, long weekend.

A older gentleman, looking a little travel worn came in with a rolling suitcase. "Good evening young lady. I'd like a room for the weekend if I may? Any thing you have available will be fine."

Her mother had already taken care of the room, but a question had been niggling at the back of Rachel's head ever since she'd gotten a look at the woman at the desk and she just had to ask.

"I'm sorry," she said, approaching with a hand against her chest as if to denote that she meant no harm in the question, really, her Souther accent dragging out pleasantly, "but I have to ask. Just who is your doctor? My friend Louisetta just got hers done, and they look just like that. I've been thinking about getting my nose, but, please, honey, not on a salary like Eeben's, so if there's a local fellow who might do it around here? It's not cheap where we are, not cheap at all, but over here...I figured....?"

Gee, it felt like Zero had just been here--

Oh, wait.

"Hi," she said as she approached Mary. "I need a room? Again?"

Parker knocked on the hotel desk top and looked wearily at Mary. "I don't have a reservation. But I have a lot of money. Is that a problem?"

A petite punk zoomed in on Parker, in hyper fashion. "PARKER!"

Mr. Hargrove was standing with his hands in his pockets and checking out the specials menu while he waited for Mrs. Hargrove to finish fussing at the bellhop.

"Mrs. Hargrove! Where the hell is our daughter? I thought she was supposed to meet us here."

Given that she's once again by herself due to a defense meeting that the Commander couldn't miss, Kat decided to splurge on a room at the hotel. Enough with sleeping in the SPD shuttle; this place has mints on the pillows.

And...towels made into animal shapes. Which, given the variety, are absolutely fascinating; she lets the bellman take her bag up to her room while she wanders through the miniature zoo.

Max was checking out the towel animal zoo, bemused and amused, as his parents checked in. He'd already seen Isabel and Michael, and was still convinced this would be a laid-back weekend with only a little quirkiness.

It was late in the evening when Caroline made it to the hotel, she stared at the towel animal zoo. "That was not here last time."
