Graveyard: Early Monday Evening

It was her last patrol in Fandom. After that it was over the causeway and then... whatever came next. She'd sent out a *handwavey* e-mail and left notes for various people to let them know if they wanted to see her off, that this would be the place for it.

Sitting on a gravestone, Mel took one last look around. Could someone really feel sentimental about a graveyard?

[Goodbye post for Mel. If you think you got notification then you did. Will be subject to bouts of AFK-ness throughout the day.]

"I've gotten fond of that angel," Romeo said, indicating a grave. "I'll do my best to stop and check on it and the rest, now and again."

"Though I think they'll miss you and your the patrolling."

"It does at that," Romeo agreed. "Though people might feel sorry for such a short lifespan."

"Do you really need to leave?" he asked, as though he believed her answer might change.

"That," he informed her, "makes it sound as though you are digging a space for yourself in this lot, not preparing to save your world."

"I know. I never thought it could feel so much like home so fast," Romeo said sincerely. "I suppose all I can do is wish you a good journey, and luck in your mission, and ... do you think you would be able to be in touch?"
withoutverona: (B+W serious)

"Time travel still hurts my brain, but you must if you can," he said, with a firm nod. Because of course she'd keep in touch. "If you can't ... I did finally write this."

He handed her a piece of paper with a light, comical, but not entirely bad sonnet written on it, the fruit of several hours on Pixie Dust's clock. "I wanted to keep that promise."

[OOC: Yeah, like I write decent poetry.]

The poem was meant to make her laugh, so Romeo grinned back, buoyed by his success. "My poor paper and penmanship should be honored by that fate," he said.
withoutverona: (damn right I'm cute)

"Probably that's your wiser choice," he allowed, still grinning.

And then looked at his shoes. He didn't really have a lot else to say. "So..."

He was already reaching for the hug as he said, "If you don't think it will make Sokka jealous."

"Smack him anyhow," Romeo suggested. "And good luck and godspeed, Mel."
