Turtle & Canary, Wednesday, 1/21

Being from Minnesota meant that Amber was totally used to the cold and snow and the occassional power outage. But when she got to the store she found out the generator was broken by way of Apu, who (kind of oddly) was standing behind the counter wrapped up in a red Snuggie. Raising her brows she decided she'd just stay in her coat, scarf, and mittens. But wow, what a great selling item, yah?

On Sale Today!
Half Off SNUGGIES!
It's a Blanket! With Sleeves!

Today's Squishy Flavors: Snow, Red Snow, Yellow Snow

Turtle & Canary is open!

"Amber?"

From the door. And holding a big covered cup of hot chocolate.

"Are you in today?"

He grinned and walked over, careful not to trot and slosh everything he was holding.

"I come bearing hot chocolate and soup," he said, holding up the bag. "What would you like?"

He chuckled and put his bag on the counter.

"It's certainly very nice to look at. I only wish the buildings here had more fire places."

After everyone else, yeah, Cal totally knew Amber would be here and working her skinny butt off in the cold.

"What the hell is a Snuggie?"

Okay, that kind of enthusiasm was enough to make Cal definitely not want to.

"Tell me what it is, first."

"Wait, wait, wait," Cal held up his mittened hands. "Isn't a blanket with sleeves just kind of like...a robe or a jacket or something?"

Oh, Jack was cold. But he was not stupid. He stared at the Snuggy. Snuggie. The pile of Snuggies. Whatever.

"Isn't that just a backwards robe?"

'Uh, sure?" he said, not sure abotu hwo this whole thing worked. "It's just...a robe." He tried one on.

It was warm. And fuzzy.

"I dunno," he said, not taking it off because hello, warm. "I don't think it's right."

And it's not like there's a mirror around to preen in.

omg Snuggies. As others can tell you, I hate those damn things. Is a blanket really that hard to use, lady on the TV? Are you really going to wear that thing to a football game?

Between this and yesterday I think I've made it obvious that I watch far too much TV.

BLANKETS ARE VERY COMPLICATED THINGS, DON'T YOU KNOW?

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO TALK ON THE PHONE AND BE WARM AT THE SAME TIME?! BLANKETS NEED AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL OR SOMETHING.

I have a snuggie and it is warm and I <3 it.

But, um, it was a gift and I certainly know how to operate a blanket.
