Caritas - Sunday evening [Open]

Jolee came in and checked to make sure that Tino, the zombies, and T1 were all who they were supposed to be. Once he did that, he took a seat in the lounge and let Tino take care of whatever insanity might happen tonight.

[OOC: Continuing the proud tradition for this weekend of cheating and making it a mod Tino night. Jolee's in the lounge if anyone wants to talk to him specifically.]

Brooke really wasn't planning to stay for long, but this whole weekend just felt off to her and she didn't want to stay indoors. Deciding it wouldn't hurt her to go out for a little while, she sat at the bar and ordered a drink.

This is probably a dumb question, but is there a piano amongst the zombie band?

It's not a true band without keytar!

Anyhows, thanks!

Luke had never been inside a bar before, but it seemed like a thing to do. He was surprised they even let him in; not wanting to push his luck, he ordered a coke and then just sat at the bar, trying to look like he did this kind of thing all the time.

It would have been more convincing if he looked like the kind of guy who had at least started to shave.

Luke glanced over toward the girl. She was way older, and way out of his league, but something about her seemed approachable at least. Friendly.

"So," he said, twirling on his stool a little, "I know a really good joke."

Luke probably needed to work on chatting girls up.

It might've helped if Brooke didn't do a total double take when she saw him. "Romeo? Why are you tiny?"

Luke missed the name thing in his indignation. "I'm not tiny! I'm 14. Not my fault people are older."
gobrookeyourself: (or not)

"Okay, why are you fourteen?" she asked. "Did you get de-aged? What's going on this weekend?"

There was a bar at on this island. A bar where Calliope didn't find herself getting glares or even yelled at for being clearly too young to be in a bar. And, better yet, when she sat on a stool and ordered a dry martini with a twist (which she only knew because sometimes Tessie got that when they went out to a fancy dinner), she actually got it.

Of course, now Callie was confronted with the task of drinking it, which proved to be difficult after the first sip that left her wondering how in the world her mother could drink those.

"Because last year I was thirteen," and Luke paused there as if he was waiting for the laugh track to kick in while his brows knit in concentration. "Oh, wait, do you think I'm that guy with the fancy name? The girl at the clinic said I looked like somebody."

Brooke frowned, then realized she was just getting more confused. "Let's start from the beginning. Who are you?"

At least that made sense. "Luke Brower," he said, offering a hand for her to shake. "I'm from Long Island. I think my foster family left me here yesterday. Who are you?"

Hugo Z Hackenbush was having one hell of a good time.

He slid into the bar and took a seat.

"It'll be a gin and tonic," he said. "I'd prefer hair, if you got it." He waggled his eyebrows at the joke.

Black Canary came in fairly early in the evening, mostly in the hope that Merlin or Arthur or someone in authority would be there, and she wouldn't have to go skulking on rooftops later.

Well. She'd probably do that anyway. "Diet Coke. I'm on-duty."

Re: The Stage [02/08]

[identity profile] laceycantlie.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Lacey had found the bar. This wasn't important so much for the alcohol as it was for the stage. The stage.

She headed up, all ready to perform the new piece she'd come up with in the preserve, when she realized that the band was made up of zombies. Taped up zombies.

"Oh my god!" she exclaimed, peering at the drummer. "Are you guys being held hostage to play music for the living? This place discriminates against the undead! I'm not going to stand for this. I'm a confrontational spoken word performance artist!"

The drummer looked at her as if to say "Yeah, I know."

Undeterred, Lacey continued, "And I'm going to fight for your rights." Grabbing the microphone, she yelled, "Okay, listen up! Zombies are people too! And they deserve better than to be forced into an indentured life of musical servitude just because they're rotting and kind of smelly, and I'm not leaving this stage until zombies everywhere get fair pay, unions, and equal rights!"

And then she proceeded to lie down right in front of the drum set and play dead.

And every now and then, yell, "Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaains!"

"Brooke Davis. You look really a lot like that guy the person in the clinic probably meant you looked like," she said. "Your family left you?"

Penelope couldn't help but stare at the strange looking gentleman. She didn't look long, because she's dealt with plenty of rudeness on that end. But she did look, even as she sipped a beer Tino had placed in front of her.

Kim had been forced to spend all day looking after a cat that wasn't hers, finally she got away and went to the bar for a drink. She needed something that wasn't healthy and so she got a soft drink.

"My goodness," Hugo said, when he spotted Penelope. He looked for a long moment "You must be from Alabama."
