Fight Club, Atlas Gym, Sunday Evening

Tyler paced the gym barefoot as the fighters assembled. "Graduates," he began. "Students. Teachers. People who work in town. Miscellaneous others. Welcome to fight club."

"We're glad to have you here," Ghanima continued smoothly. "But if you're here, you fight. If, for some reason you cannot fight, we ask you stay towards the back. This isn't a place for voyeurism. If you want a show, go find a television."

"Ghanima, you speak my language," Tyler informed her., before turning back to the group. "Two people to a fight, fights end when someone goes limp or says stop. We are not trying to kill each other here; we're trying to train. We're trying to improve. Got questions, ask one of us." He looked at his cohort. "Anything else?"

"Rules are on the door," she said crisply, "but we're happy to answer any inquires you may have."

"Now go hit the mats or go home."

"Might be? I haven't seen him." Anders shrugged. "We don't see him much, actually. He's not a social kinda guy, and nah, you can't really tell."

"Hunh," Dinah said, slightly disappointed, then grinned. "So he's lurking? In a dark corner somewhere? Being mysterious and stalkery?" That was more like it! "And how did you get to be roomies with a vampire? That sounds like a really good CBS TV show."

"My life could be a sitcom, or a bad drama," Anders told her dryly, and chucked a thumb over to where Bel was. "I live with my boyfriend, our girlfriend, her sister, her sister's best friend, her ex, and his boyfriend. We were all students here. I still wonder how the damn place hasn't blown up, some days."

"Whoa," Dinah said in a tiny voice. Gulp. "It is like a sitcom." After a beat, then, "You have a boyfriend and a girlfriend?"

"'Kay," Dinah squeaked, then cleared her throat. "So, um. What kind of fighting do you do?" Fighting, safe topic, yay!

"Eh, I'm not the big fighter in our bunch." Anders shrugged. "I know how not to cut my feet off with a sword, at least. I play sports. That's all I wanted to do before I came here, and I ended up just sort of falling into this life."

"I'm learning fencing," Dinah offered, bouncing on her toes. "And what sports?" She looked over at the mats, then back to Sam. "Do you want a match then, or no...?"

"Here? Baseball. Pyramid hasn't caught on in this galaxy yet, sadly," Anders said. "And mostly I hack and slash. I have no style at all. But sure if handwavily, zomg, my brain, if you wanna go for it, why not?"
