Support Services Meeting: The Park, Friday afternoon

Since Francine was still with her family, Morgana was by herself at the picnic tables today when everyone started to arrive.

"Good afternoon," she said in greeting. "I believe we can all agree that we would like to be prepared for whatever dangerous situations this place might choose to throw at us. We've done well in readying ourselves so far, but the problem remains that we cannot always know what to expect. I thought perhaps we could take our time today to talk about some of the things we've already gone through?" she suggested. "I'm certain that I haven't heard half of Fandom's stories, and I believe that the more information we all have, the better."

Alas, there are no Francine cookies, just pastries from J,GOB.

Inbetween work and the slumber party was the Support Services meeting, and Agnes was there. The lack of Francine cookies made her sad, though.

Angela was there, as she usually was ~~when her mun remembered~~, and snagged a pastry to nibble on.

Priestly was starting to wonder if maybe he should be bringing sandwiches to the support meetings, too.

Really, that was a hell of a lot of sugar.

Not that he was complaining. It's hard to actually complain when one has a danish crammed in one's mouth.

Layla skipped the pastries but did look around seeming to evaluate everyone.

Turtle noticed Layla seeming to evaluate and arched her eyebrow, trying to evaluate her back.

"What's that look for?" she finally asked, being unable to evaluate her to a satisfactory conclusion.

"Trying to make sure I know everyone here," Layla replied. "If that makes any sense."

"Like...everyone at support services here or everyone on this island here?"

For someone who went around and made sure she talked to every newbie in sight at the picnics, it was a legitimate question.

"Everyone on the island here," Layla explained. "It's always good to know who is and isn't on my radar. So to speak."

"Isn't it helpful to just have everyone on your radar, though?" Turtle asked. "Or, well, okay, I guess I can see that, too," No, she didn't. "I have some people a lot more on my radar than others, I'll admit."

"Already thinking about student council?" Layla teased.

"Dude," Turtle said, "I've been thinking about this election since last year. This is the big one, Layla. Senior year. Presidential run. HUGE."

"Well if I wasn't a junior, you'd have my vote," Layla shrugged. "I'm not really big on student government anyway."

It really was a shame that Layla wasn't a senior. Turtle might actually willingly agree that Jamie was hot if Layla was a senior.

"Why not?" she asked.

"I don't know. Just isn't my thing," she replied. "I guess if you know how to fix an election by doing certain actions it takes the mystique out of it."

There was a long sort of pause. The sort of pause that made it very clear that Turtle very emphatically disagreed.

"Oh, man," she said, her eyes wide, "that would make things so much easier. I bet if I could do that, I wouldn't even puke on election day, either."

No, she actually probably would, to be honest.

"Well that's a pleasant thought," Layla said rolling her eyes at Turtle.

"Whaaaaat?" Turtle asked, shoulders sinking. "It's true. I get so nervous, Layla, you cannot believe it. It's the most nerve wracking thing in the world. And I'm so terrified that I'm just not going to know what to do if it turns out that I'm not there..."

"You know what? I think you're turning me around on this government thing," Layla teased. "Because being terrified and getting dry heaves? Awesome stuff."

"Oh, shut up," Turtle said. "Once you get past the dry heaves, it's freaking awesome."

"I know it's important to you," Layla said trying to stifle a grin. "However to me? It's just not my thing."

"Eh," Turtle waved her hand. "Less competition, then, right?"

"Again, junior," Layla smirked. "I can't even vote for you."

"But you can vote for Jennifer!" Turtle easily chirped. "She's running a ticket with me. Well, as easily as you can run a ticket with the system here."

She shrugged. "We'll see. I'll vote for whoever will be the least crazy."

Hoshi grabbed a pastry and looked around for familiar faces. She wasn't opposed to getting to know the unfamiliar ones, either.

"Hi Hoshi." Robin made his way over to her. "Have you been here very often before?"

"I've come to a couple of meetings since I got back," said Hoshi. "I love the idea, though. I always feel so helpless when everyone else is off fighting stuff."

"I know. I tried to help drive back the Zombies, but it didn't work."

"When it came to the zombies, I figured I was better off staying out of everyone's way," said Hoshi.

"Yeah, I probably was too."

Harper had nothing against J,GOB pastries. They were delicious!

Claire decided to skip on the pastries since she figured there would be a lot of junk at the slumber party.

And who was she to say no to a J,GoB pastry? Turtle grabbed one, munching on it happily as she bounced with general excitement and good disposition. It was just going to be a good, good weekend, really.

Ellie was at the meeting like usual. Also like usual? She snagged a baked good of some sort.

Robin was there, and actually refrained from pastries this once.

Arthur was there ~~and had been there all along~~ at his usual perch, listening.

Gremlin bites, animal transformations, past invasions, whatever comes to mind.

"I was an encyclopedia," Layla said with a shrug. "I just really sat on my bed all week. There really hasn't been anything that strange occurring since I got here so... there's that. Tomorrow? Probably a totally different situation."

"So, in the two years that I've been at Fandom, I've been attacked by a vampire, gotten a killer plague that killed another student student, been hunted by inanimate angel statues that transported people to the past, run from zombies, and gotten bitten twice by gremlins," said Hoshi. "And I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out that doesn't spring to mind."

"I haven't been here long," Claire said. "But my boyfriend was a puppy, I sang at people, my teddy bear came to life, and I've heard stories about people turning into children and having their future children show up."

"They're more than just stories," said Hoshi. "I should show you pictures of my three kids."

Claire nodded. "Dinah showed me pictures of hers. And Peter and Chuck told me about theirs."

"As if it wasn't odd enough, I had two kids the first year that didn't show up the next year," said Hoshi. "And all three of them had different fathers."

For this, Turtle stretched out a little, making the gesture to crack her knuckles as she sighed (it should be noted that the knuckles did not actually crack).

"Oh, man," she said. "I've been here almost four years, so I've seen so much I wouldn't even know where to begin. The worst was definitely the plague; I know a lot of people think the time travel angels were scary, but I had a great time with that one, myself, so I guess if there's anything I could offer, it's that it's all about perspective? Don't even talk to me about the fake kids, though. Those don't even make sense."

Especially considering she seemed to have a virtual brood every damn time.

Who is very grateful to have escaped the current animal plague thus far.

Sooooo late, I am sooooo sorry.
