Groovy Tunes, Tuesday
If there was any one thing in the world that could pick Jonothon up out of a crabby mood, it was being literally surrounded by rows upon rows of CDs. And then there was that section over there for vinyl! Vinyl!
He was doing a very admirable job of not prancing as he pored over all of the different genres and bands, albums and singles and and and ooooh, there were DVDs over there with videos on them! Videos! MTV's great shortcoming as of late was being made up for here, and all was once again right in the world.
And all the while, some of the older Pearl Jam was blaring in the background at a volume that was possibly entirely too loud for a business in town, or, if you asked Jono, just barely loud enough for a music store.
Groovy Tunes was so open, yes.
[Just after come wee OCD is up, and we are open!]

Talk to Jono!
Until you leave, and then he'll crank it up even more loudly just because he can.
Re: Talk to Jono!
But if she avoided Jono, it would get weirder than it was. (Plus, she just liked seeing him. So shoot her.) So she quickly scarfed a sandwich before heading to his shop during her lunch break.
"Hey," she said, then shouted over the music. "HEY! HOW ARE YOU?"
Re: Talk to Jono!
And down went the volume, and Jono was left standing there, looking somewhat sheepish.
//Afternoon, luv.//

Re: Talk to Jono!
//That's easy enough,// he replied, gesturing about with his hand. //The till, the music. Over there, vinyl, which is going to eat away a healthy part of my paycheque, and most of th'rest of it is CDs. Not many cassettes about nowadays, I've noticed.//
He didn't seem to mind. Less a chance that his favourite music would get chewed on by the player.
//Videos over there, and band shirts. I might have to go poking through those, later.//

Re: Talk to Jono!
Well, maybe to save his life.

She raised an eyebrow. "Want a challenge?"
Re: Talk to Jono!
Somebody was going to go scavenging for the fundamentals for a mix tape, now, yes. //Challenge away, luv.//
Re: Talk to Jono!
She was not biting back a grin. That was ... a cramp in her cheek.
Re: Talk to Jono!
//Well, since yer asked so nicely, luv.//

Re: Talk to Jono!
He might have to make two. One for songs that were in terrible taste, and then something to make up for it.
Re: Talk to Jono!
She paused for a moment there, and was flicking through a display of soundtracks when she added, "So, have you bumped into Jean lately?"
.. no, Jono. Not the way Didi bumped into her.
Re: Talk to Jono!
//Jean? No, not since... Er. Thursday.//
How was it possible for a guy with no pulse to blush so much? The world might never know.
Re: Talk to Jono!
Nudge. Nudge. Hint.
"I think something went weird at the party. I kissed Karla too."
Re: Talk to Jono!
Which, in retrospect, kind of made him into a jerk for letting them keep on while in his lap, yes.
//I thought glitter was only supposed to do that t'boys, mind.//
Re: Talk to Jono!
"But I think I either missed the glitter warnings entirely, or brushed them off."
Re: Talk to Jono!
Speaking pretty figuratively, yes.
//I'm filing them in the same place as I'm filing the ones about gremlins, zombies, and animal transformations. Weird, but entirely plausible.//
Re: Talk to Jono!
Re: Talk to Jono!
Re: Talk to Jono!
"But it is weird," she had to concede. "I think Alex Karev's the only person who thinks I'm nuts."
Re: Talk to Jono!
He paused, then, trying to figure out how to phrase what he had to say next.
//I don't think it's so much that I'm trying to worry, luv. I think it's more that if I let it drop, if I accept that people will accept me and then I let myself get used to it, it'll hit twice as hard the moment I'm wrong.//
Re: Talk to Jono!
But that would be lying.
Re: Talk to Jono!
If nothing else, he was something of a realist. Sometimes. It was his turn to pretend to be absolutely fascinated with the soundtracks selection, now.
//Until that happens, I suppose people are going to just keep surprising me.//
Re: Talk to Jono!
"Jono?" she said, quietly. "Hey, we will. Here. And when that changes -- I'm sorry."
She almost wanted to tell him not to feel sorry for himself, but she knew that might just blow up in her face. Shyly, she brushed her fingers against his.
Re: Talk to Jono!
And then he looked up at her, curiously. Cautiously, even.
//Yer wanted to see?//
Re: Talk to Jono!
"Oh! Yes." Her thumb ran along a span of palm. "If you're ready?"
[OOC: Though I'll be AFK tonight, so I almost wonder if tomorrow would be better so we aren't SPing this.]
Re: Talk to Jono!
//Not here.// His gaze shifted to something more apologetic. //Tomorrow, perhaps? Someplace where it'll be just us. Closed doors.//
He wasn't going to let go of her hand right away, no. It seemed to fit, there. And that scared the hell out of him.
[Tomorrow, yay!]
