"We have cake," Tyler announced, frosting around his mouth until he wiped it away with his fist. "Punch each other, then have birthday cake. Doesn't work so well if you do it the other way around."

"Indeed." Ghanima was clearly very much amused by this notion. "And do be sure to sing to Mr. Durden," she continued, cheerfully oblivious to any glares she might be getting. "I understand it is traditional for birthdays in this era."

"Now, you with her. Gentlemen, you're together. Tyler, happy birthday, you're fighting him. Ladies, if you please. You two, and you and you," she said, neatly pointing out people. "Get to it."

Arya took her time warming up. After the candy she'd sampled yesterday, she was looking forward to a good workout.

Max had decided last night that he very much approved of Halloween. Mostly because the cultural norm seemed to be that costumes for girls were supposed to be sexy. Max approved of sexy.

Still, he felt like a spar would be good for him, so he did a bit of stretching before heading out onto the mat.

Jaina wasn't sure why she was here, except that she needed the distraction. She was a ball of nervous energy but didn't want to fight, she wanted to watch everyone but didn't really want to talk, and ~~was extremely annoying in my head~~ decided that if she ever fell on her head, suffered a debilitating brain injury and thought that dating ever again was a good idea, the next breakup would not be done with a week of lead-in.

It had been a while since she'd had a match, and Tahiri couldn't say it would be unwelcome. You could only get out so much frustration Force-flinging bowling pins around, after all.

She warmed up carefully, glad she'd skipped out on candy binging yesterday, because cake . . .

Excited to have been chosen, Griff waited for his turn and tried to come down from his most recent sugar high of candy so he wouldn't be too crazily bouncy on the mats.

Hoshi was ready for a good work-out today, but first she needed to go through her stretching routine.

Jack did some quick stretching and looked around to see if anyone wanted to chat or spar.

Harper was in a good mood after all the candy she'd gotten last night, but she was ready to work off some of that sugar.

And yes, she'd dressed down today, wearing something more appropriate for working out.

Claire was at Fight Club, per usual. She was doing some stretches and debating if she wanted to fight this week.

Ben had been working himself into exhaustion since Tuesday, since it seemed to be the only way he could get to sleep. So Fight Club was definitely right up his alley today.

Rose stretched carefully, watching everyone around her. Sparring today sounded so, so good after way too much chocolate and candy last night.

Jack arrived. He might do the mingling thing in a little bit, but for right now he was just smiling awkwardly at people and waving.

Calvin had a kind of weird grin on his face as he arrived, almost like he was stoned.

You probably didn't want to know how much candy he didn't have left over from last night.
