Once Jaina had confirmed that Caritas did in fact have power (Seriously, Fandom? Town hall apparently didn't have power but thae bar did? Guess we know where priorities lie.), she set out to work super early with what supplies she could get to bring with her. Once she got there, she started setting up, figuring that it was either going to be very busy with people flocking to where there was electricity, or very quiet with no one wanting to venture into the cold. But if people did show up, Little Miss I Have Worked In Refugee Camps was going to make sure they had anything they might need.

She set Tino to work making blanket forts in the lounge with the explanation of "It's warm, just do it," and got the bar set up mainly for hot chocolate, cider, etc.

Yeah, that was proof Jaina definitely needed a second job.

[So Caritas is open from afternoon on, and I am done with my errands so I am around yay!]

"They just appeared. I guess whatever makes these decisions figured it couldn't leave a dorm full of kids completely helpless." She said like she didn't live there. Throw a few extra years on the girl and she starts calling everyone 'kids.'

"Of course," she said. "Why didn't I think of magically appearing fireplaces immediately?"

This town was almost making her wish she still drank.

"Are you a student?" she asked.

"Only for a hundred and five days," she said immediately. "Not that I'm counting or anything."

Paige laughed. "Senioritis setting in already?"

"It's been a very long two and a half years, let's put it that way." Especially when you considered that between her wonky time, and John's wonky time, it was... a lot longer than two and a half years. "I'm Jaina, by the way."

"Paige," she replied. "New magic teacher. Apparently alternate universe versions of my sisters and nephews attended school here. Do you know any of the Halliwells?"

"I know of them, mainly," she said. "I'm a Skywalker, I think our families compete for most timeline weirdness, or something."

"Oh, I met the Ethics teacher," Paige said. "Is he your uncle?"

"Grandfather," Jaina said, and gave that the requisite moment to sink in. "My uncle graduated a year and a half ago."

"I'm guessing there is time travel involved in there somehow?" she said.

"Alternate timelines here too. We're all over the map," she nodded. It was enough to make someone believe Bailey's in their hot chocolate would be a good idea. "Did I mention it's been a long two and a half years?"

"I cannot even begin to imagine the headaches it has caused you," Paige admitted. "I've had some time travel experience and it always makes my head hurt."

"Actual time travel, or just going between timelines?" So sad that she knew the difference now.

"Actual time travel," she said. "I ended up in the 60s and met my grandparents when they were younger."

"Congratulations, you definitely beat me there," Jaina said immediately. "Magic, I'm guessing?"

"Yup. Grams put some kind of spell on her boots so that they would always return to her," Paige said. "I put them on and... bam! Back in the 60s."

Jaina frowned. "I have plenty of pairs of boots," she said. All for function, not fashion, of course. "I don't think I'd need any of them that badly."

She shrugged. "Yeah, I don't get it. I mean, they were totally cute boots, but..."
