Caritas- Saturday

Once Jaina had confirmed that Caritas did in fact have power (Seriously, Fandom? Town hall apparently didn't have power but thae bar did? Guess we know where priorities lie.), she set out to work super early with what supplies she could get to bring with her. Once she got there, she started setting up, figuring that it was either going to be very busy with people flocking to where there was electricity, or very quiet with no one wanting to venture into the cold. But if people did show up, Little Miss I Have Worked In Refugee Camps was going to make sure they had anything they might need.

She set Tino to work making blanket forts in the lounge with the explanation of "It's warm, just do it," and got the bar set up mainly for hot chocolate, cider, etc.

1/2 OFF HOT DRINKS
(Don't use alcohol to warm yourself up. Don't you watch Mythbusters?)

Yeah, that was proof Jaina definitely needed a second job.


[So Caritas is open from afternoon on, and I am done with my errands so I am around yay!]

Paige was the type to gravitate to the electricity. Of course, it probably helped that she didn't have to actually go outside. She just orbed from her house to the bar.

"I'm a little concerned that the bar seems to be the only place on the island with power," she said, settling in to a bar stool.

"The priorities in this town have become glaringly obvious," Jaina agreed. "Welcome to where there's heat. What'll you have?"

"Hot chocolate, please," Paige said. "I'm kind of surprised the dorms aren't their first priority really."

"I was thinking town hall. The dorms have fireplaces and spare blankets and things. I don't know how things are going for the people in the town," she said, passing over the finished hot chocolate to her.

Griff's face fell at seeing not!Brooke working at the bar. More because she wasn't Brooke than because he didn't like her. In reality, he didn't know the girl and probably shouldn't judge but that was how his day was going.

Stuck in a foul mood all afternoon had made Griff desperate for both his coffee and something to make him less...there. "Any way you know of making coffee very alcoholic, very fast?"

"So long as it's effective, you can call it what you like," he replied, deciding to put on the best fake happiness he could manage for his outing. "My day has been bloody fantastic. How's yours?"

"A little chilly," she said, moving on to the Bailey's and sliding it over when she was done. "Hopefully that will make your day bloody fantasticer, or at least make you not care."

He tested the heat of the coffee before taking a large gulp. So not going to get him drunk enough. "You know, the chilly wasn't so bad. There were fires and plenty of time to read."

Jenny stepped through a Door--a glowing orange portal--directly from her room into the bar. "Oh, thank God," she said when she realized this place was heated. "My next stop was going to have to be Tahiti."

"Now that you've said that, you're not allowed to go unless you take me with you," Jaina warned. She could deal with the cold just fine, but she didn't like it.

And just in case anyone was looking for refuge from the cold, Jaina didn't feel right leaving Tino to handle it and all. "Give me until you're ready to leave the warmth of the only place that seems to have electricity," she said. "Until then, what should I get for you?"

"Scotch?" Jenny requested. She could go directly from here to the beach, but whatever, here had liquor and power. Here was good for now.

Knowing this island never let anything bad happen to the bar, Ronon stopped in for some sports-watching and warming beverages....and took one look at the lounge only to burst out laughing. "You spend too much time with Sheppard."

"They're warm," she insisted, though that just made her curious. "Have you seen him do that a lot?" Because she would love the mental image if John had ever gotten this guy in one.
