Fast Eddie's, Monday Evening

Deadpool was pretty sure he was gonna need to be wasted by the end of the night, but for now he was having enough fun with the cheap and not too great tasting beer. Look, it was the first day of trying to start a bowling league. Of course he was gonna get hammered.

There were plenty of those disease filled rental shoes for people and even some fancy sparkly balls.

Heh. Balls.

Oh yeah, it was gonna be a interesting night no matter what.

Because nothing said fun times like gross shoes and beer!

Just don't bowl backwards. This isn't like in Wii where everyone just jumps up and spins. People will get hurt because... they're probably too drunk to move very fast.

I'm a pro bowler on Wii. True story. I only do well when I have a beer in the other hand.

Why yes, Algren did have a beer in hand.

And really gross shoes on his feet. He figured that one was a fair enough trade-off for the other. And it got him out of the house for something besides work.

"Tom Cruise," Deadpool greeted him with a nod.

"Someday, you'll say that and I'll know what the hell you're talking about," Algren greeted, nodding back and lifting his drink almost amiably.

It was Deadpool. It was to be expected. Any man who could survive living with Minsc could handle a few eccentricities here and there.

"Probably not, but let's pretend it's true," Deadpool replied brightly. "Now, I know we're missing a Minsc here. Moment of silence, please..."

Deadpool checked his watch.

"Long enough? I think so."

"Really, it's not the same unless the ball is being hurled down the lane, is it?" Minsc had that sort of barbarian charm that made every bowling outing into an adventure, it was true. "With any luck, this will draw in a decent crowd, regardless."

"If not... We're getting you a hamster and a purple tattoo. Sorry, man. It's gotta be done."

Biff hadn't complained enough about the weather to the people he lived with. He needed to complain about it to everyone, like that would help or something.

But first: "These are really ugly shoes."

"You could be hardcore and buy yourself a slightly less ugly pair," Deadpool suggested.

"Please," Nathan laughed, shaking his head. "A hamster wouldn't last a week in my hands."

The tattoo, he really didn't care about one way or the other.

Biff peered at his feet. "I don't know," he mused. "Somehow I don't that telling women I have my own pair of bowling shoes will get quite the reaction I want."

Ghanima had gotten a moderately strong ale of some sort, which she was going to enjoy for a bit before she even considered putting on the gross shoes.

She was, for once, even wearing contemporary clothing. Because it was far easier to bowl in jeans and a tank-top than in her usual dresses or robes, and really, she just liked wearing her combat boots.

"Why do we have to wear the ugly shoes again?" she asked, making a face. "My own shoes fit perfectly fine."

Since Loki didn't really have anything else to do and had seen the signs (like the cold really made a difference to him), he'd brought himself down to the bowling alley to see what the signs meant.

So, he was there. If it was too fucking boring, he'd just sit and laugh at people.

"Disgust and horror?"

"Because the bowling alley will kick us out if we don't and no amount of threatening them with sharp things will make them stop."

A beat.

"I hate nailin' the mayor. They always tattle."

"Ferret? Maybe something new?" Deadpool suggested.

"Because they hate us," Biff said solemnly, waving at her.

"A ferret? That's some sort of weasel, isn't it?"

Nathan Algren: Certainly not the pet type.

... Well, he was good with horses, but he couldn't exactly keep one in the living room.

"Yes, and that normally waits for the third date," Biff laughed.

The beer would have been better if it was Canadian, but Alysha decided it would do. The shoes were a different story however, and she was seeing how stuff turned out before deciding if she needed to go through the trouble of charming a pair clean.

Mm, beer. And possibly adults. Crazy talk.

Why do you insist on putting these images in people's heads, Deadpool? Why?

But if he was hoping for a spittake, sadly, Ghani wasn't going to oblige him. "If you're breaking the law, shouldn't they go tattling to the sheriff, instead?" Ghanima asked. "Whining to your paramour seems a bit, well, high-schoolish of them."

"Everyone loves me, I have no idea what you're talking about," Ghanima declared, although her grin was probably a good hint as to the untruth in that statement. "I think they're trying to encourage us to go to clown school. Spread a little joy through badly-designed footwear."

Socializing was important for her cover. Really. Cindy's being here had nothing to do with being locked inside her hotel room for two days, trying to figure out if this was all just a plot of the Adversary's.

Bigby had been so relieved when her phone died and she couldn't call him up and hurl invectives at his head in the name of 'progress reports.'

Beer. Cindy definitely had beer. And her own shoes (http://www.tchapin.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/bowling_shoes.jpg). She wasn't a fan of bowling, but come on. Shoes. Besides, most places didn't carry shoes her size unless she wanted to wear children's shoes.
