As Desperation Day dances went, this was probably not the most tacky ever. Of course given that it was Desperation Day, so tacky really went with the territory.

There was glitter, oh, was there ever glitter in a multitude of sparkly colours. But even more so, it seemed that the decorators had taken the 'Hearts Afire' theme literally as large cut out hearts adorned the walls. Each with a tissue paper 'flame' bursting from the top of it. Streamers in all shades of pink twisted across the ceiling, forming almost a canopy. Which hopefully would not be literally set afire. The Fire Department would probably disapprove of that. Also a lot of people's dresses would be ruined.

Let's stay away from any literal fire, okay, guys?

"If it helps, I haven't seen any snobbiness from you at all," he assured him. "So, I think you can safely assume that you're doing well in not being the snob of your family."

"That actually is a relief," Warren replied, smiling. "I'm pretty sure I'd deserve being thrown into the decorations if I ever started giving off snob-vibes."

And then he'd twinkle for months.

"Well, if that's going to happen, I don't thin it's going to be me throwing you into them," said Bod, snickering. "Unless I lost my mind. And from what I'm hearing of this place, that is entirely is possible."

"So, if I leave here tonight draped in streamers, it's totally safe to blame it on temporary insanity brought on by a dangerous dosage of glitter," laughed Warren. "I'll have to keep that in mind."

"I will try to avoid that if at all possible," he said, trying not to laugh. "I'd hate to go temporarily insane at my first dance. The impression I'd make would be poor."

"They might turn you away at the door at the prom?" Heaven forbid! "Maybe, since it was only temporary and all, the chaperones might see fit to give you a second chance. Think you can stay sane long enough to resist tossing me into the punch bowl, too?"

"I think you're safe," he assured Warren, finally just laughing. "And, if I did go insane, once I came back to myself, I'd let you return the favor. Throw me into something equally embarrassing."

"Or lock you in the bathroom and run for the door," Warren laughed, shaking his head. "You know, our speculative selves are really quite the troublesome pair. It's probably for the best for the world at large that they stay speculation."

"At least, if the world needs some outside the boxer thinkers, we'd be available?" Bod put forth. They did seem to come up with some far fetched ideas.

"Well, for the sake of the entire world, who would we be to refuse? Who knows, someday, our crazy inspiration," which was really just the two of them dicking around like dweebs, but that was just fine, too, "might be just what this place needs."
