Valentine's Day Dance | Town Hall | Saturday Evening [8pm on]
As Desperation Day dances went, this was probably not the most tacky ever. Of course given that it was Desperation Day, so tacky really went with the territory.
There was glitter, oh, was there ever glitter in a multitude of sparkly colours. But even more so, it seemed that the decorators had taken the 'Hearts Afire' theme literally as large cut out hearts adorned the walls. Each with a tissue paper 'flame' bursting from the top of it. Streamers in all shades of pink twisted across the ceiling, forming almost a canopy. Which hopefully would not be literally set afire. The Fire Department would probably disapprove of that. Also a lot of people's dresses would be ruined.
Let's stay away from any literal fire, okay, guys?
[Up early for timezones.Wait for the OCD or I will STAB YOU, OKAY? is up! And thre'll be a second post up later if this one gets insanely large (well, hell, why even say 'if')]
And the magic links: Arrival/Mingling | Punch and Food | Shadowy Corners | Chaperones | Dance Floor | OOC
[It never said Friday. Rly.]

Re: Arrival/Mingling
Re: Arrival/Mingling
"Maybe!" she chirped, eyes bright. "Do you trust me enough for that?"
Re: Arrival/Mingling
It was possible that Zack's trust was slightly misplaced, in at least that one regard.
Re: Arrival/Mingling
... Just a bit. Ino was far more trustworthy with keeping someone alive and healthy than she was in helping them avoid making a complete dork out of themselves.
There was a reason, after all, she hadn't said anything when he'd had too many drinks in Midgar for New Years. It had been hilarious.
She stuck her tongue back out at him. "I'll think 'bout it," Ino answered pertly. "If I remember!"
Re: Arrival/Mingling
He might even show off his rendition of the Chocobo Stomp or something. That one was fun.
"That's about all I can ask," he laughed, shaking his head as they finally made their way onto the dance floor. "Because we all know how your memory is."
Re: Arrival/Mingling
"Well," she said, pretending she wasn't pleased with the compliment (she was totally taking it as a compliment) anyway. "Not everyone knows 'bout it."
Re: Arrival/Mingling
Zack was occasionally delusional.
Re: Arrival/Mingling
Oh Zack.
"Totally not paying attention," she said, as a song started up. On the slow side, but she could work with that. "Or maybe I don't want them paying attention, hm?"
Re: Arrival/Mingling
And here was where Zack demonstrated that it was quite possible that he was paying far more attention than the world would ever give him credit for, right... Here.
"So, why am I the exception?"
Re: Arrival/Mingling
Turn it back around to him. Yes. Okay. Good. And she'd just... not think about it.
Re: Arrival/Mingling
Re: Arrival/Mingling
Re: Arrival/Mingling
"And do I get some sort of hint about what the sign is, before we start the guessing game?"
Re: Arrival/Mingling
Ino blinked at him. "Um. Is there a sign you'd like?"
Re: Arrival/Mingling
Re: Arrival/Mingling
Ino studied him for a few seconds and then shifted her gaze enough that she could peer coyly up at him through her eyelashes. "I might have an idea," she confessed. "But you won't need to know 'bout it beforehand. It's recognizable as a sign for sure."
Re: Arrival/Mingling
Re: Arrival/Mingling
"Ninety-nine," she said, leaning into him a bit. Hush, it was a dance, she was allowed to be close to him. "Because you can't carry more than that."
Re: Arrival/Mingling
Re: Arrival/Mingling
"Guesses should be worthwhile," Ino said agreeably. "Or else I'll start thinking you aren't taking it seriously."
Re: Arrival/Mingling
Re: Arrival/Mingling
"All the time in the world," she agreed, even though part of her twisted uncomfortably at the fact that... no one ever stayed. Ino wasn't thinking about that as she slid her arms up around his neck. She was short, but she had heels and they helped make up the difference. "All the time that's needed."
Her eyes sparkled. "But you don't get more guesses after you run out. No buying more or nothing. I'm not that patient."
Re: Arrival/Mingling
It was.
"And are there signs for when I'm getting close, too?"
Re: Arrival/Mingling
"Maybe a few," she said, "but blink and you'll miss them."
Or not notice them, really.
Re: Arrival/Mingling
Maybe he'd missed them.
Maybe it was just that this was just comfortable enough, for now.
"Well, then, I guess we'll just have to see."
