"My apologies for not giving my sermon weekly, as I had promised. I have been somewhat . . . distracted."

He had all these biological functions now. They were exhausting.

"Today I thought I would simply ask all of you a question: How do you deal with the monotony of every day life? It's all very repetitive, and your various biological functions interrupt you too frequently to approach it with a properly meditative spirit. I find it very frustrating."

Alas, poor now-mostly-human-angel. He hadn't yet discovered the true wonders of narcotics and sex.

No, seriously, he hasn't found any coping methods yet (other than booze, which only makes him have to listen to those new-found biological urges MORE). He needs your help!

. . . Okay, maybe not.

"Let me know if you figure it out?" Didi requested after the sermon. "I loved it at first, but now it's just kind of ... boring. Humans eat all the time."

"And seem to sleep the other half, yes. I'm not certain how they've gotten anything done."

Chuck felt it was his duty as a friend to help Castiel out with this, even though it had the potential to be really confusing and weird. "So what's troubling you exactly?"

"I simply don't see how you all deal with having these . . . needs constantly over your head. You have to eat and sleep every day."

"They do a lot of thinking when they're asleep," Dream's sister pointed out. "Like, a lot. And they're used to it. So when they wake up, they're ready to go." She screwed up her face. "Sometimes."

[OOC: And I flee for a few hours.]

"You know most people enjoy sleeping and eating," Chuck said. "Can't you find some positive things about it?"

"Yes, but they don't remember most of that sleeping." Castiel had been around long enough to figure that much out. "I suppose it really comes down to them simply never having had it any other way."

". . . Burgers do sometimes make me happy."

"See? That's good," Chuck said. "And I don't understand how anybody could hate sleeping. It's like my second favorite thing to do."

"What's your favorite?"

"Having sex," Chuck said, sounding like that should have been obvious.

Even Castiel would admit that it probably should have. "Ah, yes. That's a biological urge I don't think I've experienced, yet."

"I'm sure it'll happen soon enough." That would be an interesting thing to see. "But that's one biological urge that won't kill you if you don't give into it. Though I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to do it..."

"It sounds a bit . . . messy."

"If the monotony of life is boring you, stop being so monoto... mono... -- Stop being so repetitive! Learn how to have fun! Mix it up! Only boring people are bored!"

"I don't think that's true," Castiel said. "But what would you advise I do to . . . have fun?"

"Well, yeah, it kind of is," Chuck allowed. "But even that's part of the fun. And it's not like you can't shower after."

"I already have to do that," Castiel said. And thank god he'd figured that out before returning to the pulpit. "And . . . wash this clothing. It's very disagreeable."

"Yeah, okay, doing laundry sucks," Chuck said. "Or so I'm told. I don't do my own laundry."

"Then how do you keep your clothes from smelling?"

"Oh, my clothes get washed," Chuck said. "It's just I pay other people to do laundry for me."

"Ah. I'm beginning to see the advantage of money."
