The Homecoming Carnival was in full swing and decorated according to the theme: blues and greens of all sorts, and little fish decorations everywhere.

But that wasn't the important part, oh no.

The important part was how much fun could be had at all of the booths! Step up, step up! Take your chances!

Really, who would want to miss this?

"No, I... have been lucky," he agreed, exhaling a little laugh. "I mean, who wants to go to the kissing booth with the guy the color of tomato sauce, right?" He hadn't been expecting a great number of visitors anyway, but he preferred it this way.

"I don't know," Karla said, pretending to think about it. "Bright red might be eye-catching. And totally adorable."

Chuck wrinkled his nose just a little. "See trouble is, no guy really wants girls to think of them as adorable," he said. "It's about one step up from 'I think of you like a brother'."

Chuck was the sort of guy who quickly ended up in the f'riend zone' with girls, rather than the 'potential romance' zone.

Whereas Karla was the girl who was totally oblivious to someone's crush until something happened and they were kissing.

Sigh.

"Really?" She looked surprised. "I'd never thought of it that way before. But, yeah, I can kind of see that. Baby animals are adorable, not romantic. Can we pretend I left it at 'Bright red might be eye-catching?'"

"I can work with that." Honestly, red and eye catching wasn't brimming with awesome either unless you were talking about a shirt... But hey, since his blush had remained minimal, he wasn't quite at that point anyway.

"Oh, hey uh-- I think I'm actually supposed to offer you a kiss, right?" Yes, that was why he was stuck behind this little booth here. "Or try and collect money out of you... for one."

"... I'm not very good at this sales pitch."

"You got to it!" Karla pointed out. "That's pretty much as good as you have to be, right?"

She handed a dollar over to him and smiled, leaning in towards him. "Kiss kiss," she said, amused.
