As soon as Nathan walked into the bar, he knew Tino was not going to be the entertaining bloke that he usually was. For one, he was crying pitifully over a glass of milk and for two...he was wearing culottes. Yeah, Nathan was not going to fucking ask. Instead, he left Tino alone, proving that he could have some sympathy.

Instead, he grabbed a bottle of whiskey, grabbed a glass and poured himself a drink while plucking his phone out of his pocket. And now it was time to text message people at random. Most of the time, he closed his eyes and picked a contact at random before sending a ridiculous message but sometimes, he chose the recipient on purpose.

Hopefully nothing incriminating would get to the wrong person. If it did, well, oh well.

[Feel free to mod getting a text message from Nathan if you'd like and feel free to mod the content as well. He has no shame and I'm easy.]

Effy hadn't got a text message (in her head she knew him as Virgin Waffles, like she'd bothered handing out her number), but she had been expecting a bartender she knew to be in her tonight. Just not this one. Clearly Alex had forgotten to mention a few things.

Or she hadn't bothered to ask, and hadn't been in to visit lately.

Something more like that, most likely. She barely gave Tino a second look (the freak), before she slid onto a stool opposite Nathan. "How cheap is that shit?" she wondered, eying his whiskey.

Nathan glanced up at her from over his phone and shrugged one skinny shoulder. "What makes you think it's cheap? That's an awfully big assumption, isn't it? Maybe it's some pricey as shit Cuban whiskey that was smuggled out during the night amidst civil war and blood."

"Maybe it is." There was no telling. "Wasn't knocking your immaculate taste..." But she was mocking the very idea he might have 'immaculate taste' now. "But if it is cheap I'll have some." She was no connoisseur and definitely didn't have the money to start being one now.

"So is it?"

"Customer?" she suggested, knowing full well that wasn't the word he was looking for. They were supposed to be always right, after all.

"And that's a load of shit." Please. She'd known Irish people. The ones she met drank anything.

"Oh, wrong!" Nathan told her, pocketing his phone and tossing back the glass of whiskey. "Wanna try again? You could show me your tits but untill I hear the magic word, you're getting nothing."

No, he was not getting anything like a 'please' out of her yet. Where was the fun in that?

Ramona held up her phone as she wandered in, shooting him a skeptical look. "It's a little early to drunk-dial, Nathan."

"Who said I'm drunk?" Nathan asked, shooting her a grin. "I am at least five drinks from completely fucking drunk. Come on, Ramona, you should know a drunk dial better than that, I would have thought."

"Always!" Nathan announced, toasting her with his glass. "Are you here to join me, Raaaaaamona? We could get drunk and sing Irish songs together!"

"I don't know any Irish songs," she told him sadly. "Just 'Danny Boy' and I bet you hate hearing that one more than being called a leprechaun."

Oh yes, Nathan was already rolling his eyes at the thought of hearing 'Danny Boy' again. Still, that wasn't going to stop him from serving her a drink of his choice. It was strong, it was vodka and he figured she'd be fine with it.

"Well, I'd teach you Irish songs," he informed her, hand to his chest. "You should've seen me on St. Paddy's Day, Ramona. I led an entire fucking pub in several Irish songs and I was fucking drunk while I did it. I'm just that good."

She was fine with strong drinks, yeah -- it was how she preferred them. She did eye him a little, though. "You're also Irish. I think that gives you a leg up on St. Patrick's Day."

Caroline didn't really need the message Nathan had sent her as encouragement to show up on the bar on a Wednesday. Free booze and banter were a winning combination without the dirty texts.

"Worried I had forgotten you?" Caroline asked, taking her usual spot and looking for her glass, which she thought should totally be waiting for her.

Well, it might not be her glass but his glass was sitting there right in front of her, completely full and open for stealing. So, maybe it'd be hers once she spotted it.

"Worried is not the word," Nathan told her, grinning. "But, I just didn't think you should go through a day without knowing my innermost thoughts. I thought you'd appreciate them. And maybe use them as a motivator for some of your dirtier activities."

"They were very special thoughts," Caroline teased, snagging his glass for her own and taking a sniff to discover what they were drinking. Always so strong. "But I'm not all that motivated by words." She was a girl of action.

Well, until she decided that the words were important. Then guys were just screwed for knowing what she wanted. Oops?

The stronger the better, Caroline. She should know that by now. And it got them drunker quicker and they could be such fun drunks.

"Oh yeah?" he asked, leaning on the counter and smiling at her. "And how should I motivate you tonight, Caroline?"

"Oh, lots of things," he said, tapping his chin thoughtfully. "Talking. We're good at talking!"

Most of the time. When they weren't fighting, they rocked the fucking conversations.

"Making out," he continued, nodding. "We're good at that too. Singing but that's not going to happen so don't even ask. Dancing. I don't think you'll met me ask you to dance right here."

Maybe he was wrong, though.

"Tetris." He didn't really mean that.
